Johnny S Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I have several that look exactly like that one hanging around my place .... they are still on the top (or bottom maybe) of some of the 4 by 4's I have out back. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I've gong modern and carry two plastic ones like that wood one. Quote
falconvan Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Darn, if he only had a matching set of four, I'd jump on it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) think I will stick with this one Edited May 20, 2017 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
woodscavenger Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 That is funny!!! I will laugh even harder if someone buys it. It is for the guy who has eveything. LOL! Quote
RobertKB Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 woodscavenger, with your handle, I thought you would be after that item for sure! Quote
james curl Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 My 48 came with a sheet metal wedge to place behind the tire when you used the bumper jack so that the car would not roll and have the jack fall. Do not know if these were standard on MoPars of the 40s and 50s or not. Keep it behind the tire in the well. It looks like if you forgot it was blocking the tire and backed up it would collapse. Young Ed Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 My 48 has one of those also. The jack is also in a nice canvas storage pouch thing. Quote
JoelOkie Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 When I was a kid many commercial trucks carried the double chock blocks that were linked together with chain so they could prevent travel in any direction. Delivery type trucks like propane and freight, especially, and I suppose that they were required to do so. I have always favored the big red brick myself. BobT, you should definately market those... Johnny S Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Looks like it's "worth" at least $9.00 plus shipping!! Tim, I think yours is better .... nicer woodgrain. And such a nice color. Yours could be constructed out of one of those exotic woods from Texas or Florida? Sage brush or Mesquite or maybe Palm or Palmetto? Quote
Johnny S Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Here's a photo of the metal chock that actually came with some of these old Mopars. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 That and the jack/pouch is what I have in my 48 too. Quote
Brendan D25 Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 The original wheel chock is in my 48 D25 and is wood and is stamped "wheel chock." Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 The original wheel chock is in my 48 D25 and is wood and is stamped "wheel chock." I don't have either the jack or wheel chock. However, the picture in the parts book of the P15 shows the wheel chock. It looks like a wooden block too, not metal. Quote
