  1. Really looks like a pretty good deal: http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/2436964972.html
  2. The way I understand it, the stent is like a little reinforcing tube that keeps the atrery open.
  3. I had a heart attack seven years ago, at which time I received three stents. Lately, I have been feeling very run down, which I attributed to stress at work and a very busy family life. On Wednesday, I felt a weird pain in my chest, that came and went all day. It wasn't very severe, and I casually mentioned it to my wife. She insisted that I go to the ER and have it checked out. It's a good thing that I did, because it turned out that I had an artery with 90% blockage. My cardiologist added another stent yesterday, and I came home today. I guess the moral of the story is don't ignore strange pains because your body is trying to tell you something. Harold
  4. Joe, Maybe you popped an instrument cluster bulb into the green turn signal bulb opening on the back of the cluster? In my experience, all the clusters had the green lens even if not factory equipped with turn signals.
  5. Pedigree from the AACA site: http://forums.aaca.org/f119/1937-plymouth-299062.html
  6. I pulled the expander nail from small pop rivets, then pushed the wire through the hole in the rivet head, crimped, and soldered. Worked well.
  7. My son is into computers (he's graduating from a specialized high school computer academy next week, and will be a Software Engineering major at RIT in September) and is also a fan of Linux. He has nothing but unkind words for Microsoft products.
  8. The bottom color was an aftermarket addition because the fender welting is painted. The car also has wire whell covers. Very spiffy!
  9. That's slightly more complex than a New Jersey motor vehicle inspection....if there's no Check Engine light, you pass!
  10. If you're lookiong for a quick deal, you may want to consider a Federal GSA auction. Most of them take credit cards for the full purchase price, and the cars are generally in decent shape. I've bought dozens of them and only got burned once or twice.
  11. Freehold always has a nice Memorial Day parade that goes about a mile and a half through our downtown section. We draw entrants from organizations all over Monmouth County. My son is in the HS marching band and tomorrow will be his last one because he graduates in June. Enjoy the Holiday and don't forget what it represents.
  12. Here's something I was surprised to see. The PBS stations in our area show reruns of old British series. Last night, I was watching 'As Time Goes By' made in the 1990's and, on the wall in the background, was a picture of a '54 Plymouth. The possible tie-in may have been a brief Johnny Cash reference in the dialogue. Either it was a pure coincidence or the set decorator paid a lot of attention to detail.
  13. What would it cost to get the car into a container and ship it to North America? As others have said, in this part of the world it would be repairable.
  14. It doesn't work right because the contour of the front edge of the doors is different. My '51 had a '50 nose when I got it and both doors had notches bent into them to clear the fenders so they could open.
  15. Bob, Our thoughts are with you. Harold
  16. Is the cover the same diameter as the speedometer?
  17. To try and title a vehicle using a non-matching piece of paper that you bought is sheer idiocy. One way to get an 'in' with someone knowledgable on DMV rules is to ask local dealers what title service they use to process their paperwork, then speak to that company. Another route is to check the regulations concerning abandoned vehicles or mechanic's liens in your state. In New Jersey, for example, you need to run an ad for three times in a local newspaper and complete an affidavit stating that the previous owner abandoned the vehicle and the circumstances involved. Upon review, the state issues a title in your name. Towing companies do this all the time when they haul a car that the owner doesn't claim.
  18. The 1953 movie Split Second has a '52 Plymouth business coupe that changes from real car to a model from scene to scene, ultmately getting blown up (with the bad guys in it) in an atomic bomb test. Another one of those things where only a Plymouth person would notice.
  19. Did you try looking in Section 18 of the parts book (standard parts)? It gives the specs on various fasteners and may make it easier to track down a replacement.
  20. What about contacting a wheel cylinder manufacturer directly to see if they catalog the pins as an individual part number? Several have online catalogs.
  21. This one has shown up several times over the past few years with no takers. The phone number places it in Neptune, NJ. Maybe it'll go this time...... http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/cto/2363828253.html
  22. I almost bought a '52 Belvedere in the late 1980's. I knew about it for a few years, and finally made a deal over the phone. My friend and I loaded-up spare tires, fresh battery, and tow bar and went to get it (in western New York, 350 miles from home). I said to the seller "I want to hear it run". He said "I can't find the keys---I'll mail them to you". I said "No problem, I have a fresh battery and will hot wire it". He hemmed and hawed. I said "Keep it". The car showed-up several times on eBay, each time repainted another color, the latest being about 4 years ago. The first eBay seller wrote 'has rod knock', and the next seller said 'rebuilt engine'. Glad I didn't buy it!
