  1. I know that you will be able to Finish what you have started Fred. I have watched your progress since I was a lurker to an active member! It can be very frustrating at times, and rewarding seconds after you have solved the problem. I am reminded of the time I tried finishing drywall...my rookie attempt in our first house. Was cussing up a storm and complaining to Esmey that nothing was going my way. She said and I quote" Why don't you just get back in there and troubleshoot it!" With that I put my best foot forward and conquered the living room. Now I know this does'nt solve your problem, but you must know we are rooting for you. So just get back in there..FRANKIE47
  2. Glad you see it, glad I don't need hi-powers! Such a wonderful site we've found, life is good. FRANKIE47
  3. Ed, I like it when you talk about your projects with your pops, some time you should share some of your dad's pearls of wisdom with us! I'll bet they would be good. FRANKIE47
  4. Wow nice website, will try it on the rear bumper lettering! Beats the tar out of testors and a camel hair brush. FRANKIE47
  5. Frisk your friends, they may not like it, but your baby will be safer! Code red...LOL..FRANKIE47
  6. In the 46-48 d-24 parts book the gasket no. is 14-29-5. Dang ,I think I may have finally helped someone! Hope that works for ya..FRANKIE47 Think I really need a Hollanders Interchange Manual!
  7. What a platform to start with! I also love those tailights, can't wait to see more. Congatulations, these cars are addictive. If I may ask ,in the rear shot, is the top of the rear window gasket not sealing? Or do I need new cheaters from wally world? FRANKIE47
  8. Sipping and sitting and sizing up the situation. Hmmmm, could I use a power antenna with a RUNTZ attached, or would it just go up more slowly if wired solo? Or could I go with a hidden antenna say between the headliner und das roof? Time to add a pickled egg to the thought process FRANKIE47
  9. That would be very nice, thank you for the invite! FRANKIE47
  10. Well ,HEEEDOUBLEHOCKEYSTICKS! It seems to me that there is no original spot for the shiney stick unless ordered from the factory. If you order a copy of the build sheet as per your serial no.,and it was radio delete, you have the option of putting it any where you please. All you have to say is that is the side the dealer installed it on! Thanks FRANKIE47
  11. Explain one shot paint brand please. This is a new one to me and I'm addicted to rattle can tech! FRANKIE47
  12. My 47 d-24 club coupe has lug nuts.
  13. Dennis, Is the show held around the same time every year and are there others in or around Barstow. My wife is from Tera Bella and we run through Barstow everytime we visit from Omaha! It sure would be nice to see a car show on the way through! There are some really nice shows in Omaha but face it, after so many years not very many new ones come along. FRANKIE47
  14. Yessiree Bob I meant the antenna! Sorry to be vague, that was an expression that my father used for a good looking piece of chrome. All your help is greatly appreciated! FRankie47
  15. Has anyone chromed a stock base and lid converted for paper filter? FRANKIE47
  16. dodgepu1946- Of course you were already at work! I have oddball hours-10 am to 6:30 pm. I guess they think I have nothing better to do! I had never heard of a passenger side mount that was interesting. Maybe owner installed? Thank you, for answering my PM. BOB T, Love that shiny stick! Did it come with your vert or did you install it? Shell...That looks like some of the drawn magazine placements! You even have beltline Mirror, wish I did. Gents, I believe I've got the general idea thanks to your wonderful pictures! Thank you one and all, FRANKIE47
  17. Does anybody have good pictures of where the stock antenna goes? Pretty sure it is on the cowl and not the fender. Or are there any period alternatives that look good? One more,....hidden? FRANKIE47
  18. Rolling resistance is less than stationary resistance due to momentum, ie gravitational forces. Took judo classes when I was in prep school and found it much easier to throw someone to the mat when you used their own force against them[they were already moving] than trying to wrestle them to the ground from a stationary position! FRANKIE47
  19. There's no place like home! Repeat three times, then you get to see the rest of the picture! FRANKIE47
  20. Wayfarer, thank you so much for the adaptor info! I don't think I can top Timmy boy for female drama, I read somewhere that he has 2 wifes! What a glutton! I have One Wife Three Daughters Eleven Grandaughters VS Myself Four Grandsons, we are sadly out numbered and out gunned! FRANKIE47
  21. Was reading $200 overdrive thread and came to the realization that I don't know where my relay is located for my fluid drive! I know it's there because I rewired the car 3 years ago and everything works fine. Help please! Thanx FRANKIE47 1947 d-24 club coupe

  23. Do what your wife tells you, after all she has been planning her wedding since around 5th grade or so. She won't remember what you did to help, but she will always remember what you fought over before the wedding! I wish someone had told me I was just going to be in the wedding and not to think I had an opinion on it! FRANKIE47 PS Been with Esmey 30 years married for 22, very happy!
