  1. Thanks for he feedback. What you describe makes sense. It wasn't until we compared the left side with the right side fender that we realized the wire was there although it should have been obvious due to the excessive amount of crimping done on the rolled over edge as they wrapped the lip around the wire.
  2. I recently took the fenders to the painter for freshening up before respraying them. The drivers side is original to the truck and we noticed this tab that is spot welded to the fender. I'm pretty sure the tab is original due to the spot welding. It does look like a piece might have been broken off from it. Any clue what the tab was for and what might be missing? The passenger fender is not original to the truck. The original had been bashed in so a spare tire could be mounted to the bed. I do not remember the year truck this replacement fender came from but it has very obviously been repaired in various places evident by the brazing that has been done. The fact that brazing was used tells me the repairs were done a long time ago. However the odd thing about this fender is it appears to have a round wire bar rolled into the curved seam that defines the wheel well opening. The only thing I can conclude is someone was trying to reinforce the seam. Anyway, it looks like I might be placing a Wanted Ad in the Classifieds. Brad
  3. I bought 1/2-20 nuts for the shock mounting studs on my B3B.
  4. My only issue is he indicated he would call me back the next day once he checked his parts trucks. After a week with no return call I called and ended up leaving a message and still didn't get a return call. I dislike people who don't follow through with what they say they are going to do. If you say you're going to do something, do it. I tend to not deal with someone like that even if I know they have what I'm looking for.....
  5. Don't expect a return call from Doug if he doesn't have it. Not overly impressed with his operation.....
  6. Would 1:87 be considered HO sized?
  7. Yes they did, and I have one But it doesn't fit on my fire place mantel.....
  8. I wish someone would manufacture a B3 series with the correct rounded rear fenders.
  9. DCM Classics has them listed on their website.
  10. Thanks. I'll bet that top bolt is a bear to get to.
  11. Have any pictures to share?
  12. I'd say you got off cheap. I had a new driveshaft made and it cost me $534 out the door.
  13. I'm beginning to get a little worried about JB. It's been 19 days since his last Route Van picture posting Did you forget your FB password? ?
  14. On the Pilothouse Club Knowledge web page you will find links to parts manuals, service manuals and owners manuals. Brad
  15. When pushing the latch mechanism into place I had to use a little force to depress the bolt into the housing slightly before it would slide into place. The first door took a bunch of finagling before I figured that out. The other door was in and done in no time
  16. David, you nailed it It is the screw hole for the wing window.
  17. Finally started assembling the doors last night. The latch assembly is completely installed on the passenger door. I've also got the driver side installed but it's not acting quite right so I plan on pulling it back out to see what the problem might be. Two steps forward and one back
  18. Good point. I think that is right in the area of where one of the screws for the vent window would be. I'll check this evening and report back. Thanks!
  19. Only thing I can think of is maybe someone had to remove the roll up window and wanted to make sure the window run was replaced in the same location.
  20. Last night I was verifying the fit of some parts and noticed that the front window run bracket had what looked like an alignment hole. I checked the other door and no alignment hole was present. Anyone else run into this before?
  21. All the springs are fine. The window regulator and door latch mechanisms on the drivers side were pretty much shot but I managed to source a nice set from a 1950 truck that I picked from in a salvage yard.
  22. This picture covers the remainder of the components that go inside the door.
  23. New gaskets might have moved around a little bit, but there was no way the hardened rubber gaskets needed any sleeves! ? I wonder just how pliable the original rubber was? The new (bought in 98) gaskets from Roberts were still fairly pliable when I installed them in the frames. Not that it was an easy task but easier than I originally anticipated.
