  1. I'm about an hour away from the end of my work day and loading up Ruby for the trip north. Two six packs of Long Trail Double bag are on ice and waiting for me to grab my stuff and hit the road. I've got a layover planned in White River Junction tonight with the remaining 60 miles north from their in the morning. Fingers crossed that a nice leisurely pace will keep Ruby happy, and me from the side of the road without any troubles, if not well at least there'll be a few beers on ice in the cooler!
  2. Thanks for the details Dave. Sounds like a great show. I'm actually partial to the 30's and 40's stuff, but won't pass up any car show. The estate is a great venue for this type of show and the club did a great job with the organizing and parking. I was amazed at the variety. It's a good thing I don't have room for another car, there where plenty to choose fromin the xr corral as well.
  3. http://www.dailynewstranscript.com/features/x401787578/Classic-and-antique-autos-roll-out-at-Endicott-at-annual-car-show?page=0 Lukas is the son of a fella that works for me. He was quite happy behind the wheel.
  4. I've added it to my calendar and if theres no confilcts, you'll see me there.
  5. Hold that spot on the floor for me Greg... I'm in. Looks like a Thursday night departure will get me 50% of the way up there after work. Send me your route and I'll plan to meet you (with some great vermont brew)...
  6. Pleasure meeting you too John. Hope we have occasion to chat again in person soon.
  7. ... and here I was afraid of making the 4 hour trip from central mass. Seriously thinking of loading the car Friday AM and skipping outta work for the day. One issue, my spare is a piece of cr*p... don't think it's had air in it for 40 years. All else seems to be in working order. Do they sell cheapo radials for those old rims? Oh, yeah... no hotel reservations might be an issue I should think about as well.
  8. Hey Randy - thanks for the post. Indeed some great places to have a car show round these parts. As a relative newbie, I'm lucky to have the opportunity to dovetail with so many other car nuts in these parts at these types of show. While at the show today I met fellow p15'er and frequent poster John Reddie. Had a great conversation with him and hope to bump into him again soon. Surpringly enough, there where over 1000 cars at the show today and I was the ONLY p15 on the lot! Pre/Post war Mopar products where relatively rare come to think of it. Here's a shot of the line up at 7am today. - Mark
  9. Any New England guys going to the BSAAC show this coming Sunday? I'll be there. Meeting a bunch of guys from a club I'm in and we're driving our cars down early. Weather is supposed to be Gorgeous, low humidity and tons of sunshine. It should be a great show this year.
  10. NAPA's great. Gents at my local shop here on the east coast never fail me. If they don't got it, they know where to get it, or who can help.
  11. Can't do business without the phone guys! Sweet looking car by the way. My next will be a coupe. I manage Real Estate for a fortune 100 out here in Mass and we just invested fully in Tandberg V/C. Marvelous stuff for sure, prevents me from having to do weekly east coast < -> west coast plane trips!
  12. Awesome scooter!
  13. That plat sic flag holder seems like it was designed for the trunk lid, but use caution when opening the lid. Almost snapped it off earlier today, wasn't thinking.
  14. Mounting the flags was pretty easy, just a few inches of electrical tape spun around the flag, then a few more inches round the bumperette and voila! Looking forward to it!
  15. Ruby's leading the Division 3 section of tomorrow's July 4th parade in Sudbury Mass. So today I bought a few flags to give the old gal some color. Will snap a few more shots during the parade and add them here tomorrow night.
  16. Bought a pair on eBay for 10 bucks this past February. Came out of Minnesota if I recall correctly. Saw more on their last night. Took them to a small shop near me and had them duplicate the original pair I have as they where looking a little worn and I was afraid of them breaking.
  17. Awesome! What a good looking car. Congrats!
  18. Saw these on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1946-1947-1948-PLYMOUTH-NOS-large-bumper-guard-bolts-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45fb6eb092QQitemZ300571078802QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_500wt_948
  19. Hey thanks Chet! I figured a minimum of seven yards with another yard for mistakes. Not sure what you meant by your PS?.. Maybe youre talking about the vinyl? The factory literature for the special deluxe shows vinyl kickers on the lower seat valance (front & rear), and the back of the front seat coordinates with the door panels, in my case solid grey flannel with maroon vinyl. Original fabric in my car is gray with a blue stripe, tufted in the center as yours is, but SMS doesn't have the blue stripe. They do have a near perfect maroon stripe, so I'll likely go with that. My car also has a tan head liner thats in decent shape, but at 63 years old and being very brittle, it would not take much to damage it, so I'm planning to replace that and at the same time it will allow me to insulate the roof with sound deadening material. SMS offers a pre-sewn head-liner kit for $229. This will all be next winter though... It's drive time now. Appreciate the advice, look forward to seeing more of your progress. - Mark
  20. Can't tell you the number of folks that stop just to tell me that they had the exact same car back in the day... It's all good, I love to hear the stories and to see the look in their eyes when they roam around the car.
  21. Chet - I looked at all of your progress pages on the website today, nice work!! I just got a letter in the mail yesterday from SMS AutoFabrics in Oregon with samples for my car. If you don't mind me asking, how many yards of material did you need for the seat bottoms and back, not including the rear of the front seat?
  22. My dads had 8 of them installed over the last 12 years, (heart desease runs in the family), and a quintuple bypass 20 years ago. Stints are small miracles without which he would certainly not be with us today. Modern medicine is wondrous.
  23. Happened to me this past Saturday. Embarrassing for sure, but the good part of the story was that I got a helping hand from a local motorcycle enthusiast. He fetched me a gallon of gas while the local cop pushed me off the side of the road! Like you, it took quite a bit of pumping with the starter before she brought gas to the carb. So much so, that I had to use my portable jump starter to bring her to life once the carb fuel bowl was filled. Lesson learned: 1/4 on the gauge= empty in reality, and another thing to add to the "to-do" list.
  24. Nice tk hear the cars running mike!
  25. Still on the edge... Work travel has me all over the place these days. Hope to be able to commit soon.
