Which ones are you working Ed?... the front mounts of the rear springs have a hole in the chassis so that you can get a drift in there from the back to know the pin out, but the back ones really have no need for a hole in the chassis there as they have a grease fitting on the side of the shackle mount and no hole in the end of the shackle bushing.

I found similar casting numbers stamper on a 3.54 car diff which I have installed in one of my trucks. Are you able to locate the numbers on the flat plate on the underside of the diff?... (see attached photo 'diff 2') ... as these will provide a better clue to your diff ratio. It should be stamped with the ratio details there - I found that 3.9 over 11 equals a 3.54 ratio.

Cool line up there Paul. Thanks for posting. Were they all lined up at the gun shop or the smog testing shop?

Could it be that Mark was so worried that your patina paint might show up the red paint on the FEF truck that he sent his beloved fire-cat over to visit your garage PP to level the playing field?

I was watching 'Restoration Garage' (Season 1 Ep.1) on Discovery Turbo the other day when I spotted an old Dodge truck with a tree growing out of the bed in a paddock... see youtube link at around time frame 37min 54 sec.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNqy0d4TNEM . I saw the same truck pictured in Season 2 Ep. 6 of the same show, so the truck must be located close to their shop at Bradford Ontario. It is interesting that when they are showing pictures of the truck David tells viewers to "pay attention to old vehicles beside the road as they may be treasure just waiting".

I reckon he's more of a Clydesdale horse Mark..... big and SLOW !!! Sorry, you left yourself wide open there!

The rear windows go in from the inside. I paid $50 per window to have a window fitter install mine - $125 per window does sound a bit pricey!

Photos would be good (like Jeff said). Could it be that you just need to adjust your sliding window?
-
You're welcome Jeff. I'm glad that it worked out well. A little birdie told me that Mark may be the next person to have one in a truck on your side of the world

Think I'd have problems getting wifey to fly the extra distance Mark as she gets motion sickness quite bad. Probably not such a good thing as we will only be here in Waikiki for 3 days before boarding the Pride of America for an 8 day cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.

You got a true workhorse there Rod! Looks like it would easier towing that car than the one that lives in your parent's garage!

Wombats are a bit big Hank.... but snakes for sure! I was pulling parts from a truck in a parts yard out west with my Dad a few years back when we spotted a large red-bellied black snake crawling up into a larger Dodge truck parked beside the one we were working on. We have something like 18 of the top 20 most venomous snakes in the world here in Australia. I still recall us getting chased by that snake in Anza Borrego desert last year Hank... that was funny!!! I'll be in Hawaii for the next couple of weeks, so won't have to worry about too many snakes there!

How cool is that old route van!... sort of like Richard's (rkldesign) only different!!

There is a seal shown in the manual where the filler tube goes through the cab floor. I suggest you look at this thread... http://p15-d24.com/topic/24522-fuel-tank/page-3?hl=%2Btank+%2Btemplate#entry348386for further details as this has been discussed before.

Breakfast as an excuse to drive your vehicle

I visited Texas Loosey's (Lucy's) in Torrance CA with Hank and Blanca for a meal last year and must say that it was a most memorable experience! I see that Google even has images of the waitresses 'uniforms'! The food was great too !!! -
Here's a link to your post that you refer to Bob... http://p15-d24.com/topic/36328-52-wayfarer/#entry373058 Great looking car by the way!

That is cool PP. I reckon that you should buy one here in Oz for your holiday home! I'll even arrange to sell you one of ours when we retire it (we have 41 buses at present)!

I had to cheat a little with that tank in the 53 (photo at post #5) as I used metric 'rivnut' inserts because the tank bracket mount area was damaged. Here is a photo of the tank setup before I restored the 52 truck... (the nuts at the bottom of the bolts were not really required to be there)...

1953 Dodge 'coupe' truck project
Desotodav replied to Desotodav's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I am sure that most here would agree that it is exciting when valuable parts required complete a project start rolling in. I received a quantity of engine components during the week and now just await the final parts order (pistons, rings, bearings etc) from Egge USA. I managed to find the old-style timing chain cover seal and pressed it in to the cover at our workshop the other day. I dropped in to see my Chromer and he will be zinc-plating the seat slides and other adjusting mechanisms for me. He already has plenty of things for chroming for me - mainly grille bars and hood emblems. I have been tinkering around with removing bolts from panels (floor panels pictured) and tapping out the threads again in readiness for panel beating and then reconstruction. Here's hoping that it goes together easier than it came apart!!! -
Main Street doesn't show on Google Maps for some reason. It crosses South Main Street. There seems to be a welding and sandblasting (M&K Enterprises) business on one street corner and the Milan Methodist Church on the other.

The number of teeth on the speedo drive 'pinion 21-85-5' varies depending on your type of transmission/diff ratio/tire size. I have attached a segment from the manual with part #'s for you (assuming that you are running a 3 speed transmission). I think that my 52 truck is running a 16 tooth gear. I will remove a gear from one of my transmissions at the shed if nobody knows the answer to your teeth question. Just as a matter of interest though, where did you get the new 14 teeth gear which you have installed?
