  1. Sure he has two Ferrari's..... but could he afford an old MOPAR?
  2. I borrowed one from a friend and it worked well...
  3. You guys don't want to go hunting deer around North Dakota or Minnesota because they have trained deer there so that they cross where the deer crossing signs are on the highway - it's a funny story... follow this link... https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/CI8UPHMzZm8?rel=0 Maybe it's a conspiracy between the government and the insurance companies?
  4. Come on Pete... ya gotta post the pictures up the right way or you'll leave yourself wide open to 'land down under' jokes !!!
  5. I went with stainless steel 'ribbed' trim rings on my blue truck. I looked at adding a silver triple pin-stripe, but I think that the trim rings just gave it that sharper look. I guess that it all depends on what look you are wanting to achieve.
  6. Saw this one one on Ebay... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1956-Desoto-Diplamat-ute-/131628708473?hash=item1ea5aeb279
  7. I'll have to ask him. Will send you a PM after I chat with him.
  8. Cool photo.... you reckon salesman or proud owner?
  9. Good looking ute Lee. I have a couple of mates doing them up here in Oz (one is a Dodge and the other a Desoto).
  10. Well spotted Tom. Looks like some nice old cars there - including blue Dodge panel truck...
  11. Merle, congratulations to you and Michelle. May there be many years of happiness ahead for you both.
  12. Drop me a PM if you want DarkRider. See post #29 of this thread... http://p15-d24.com/topic/38449-installation-of-door-window-glass-questions/page-3?hl=%20door%20%20lock... where 4mula-dlx talks about alternative door-locking handles.
  13. I had my 52 truck displayed at a car show almost 1 year ago and was nearby when a fella and a couple of others (possibly his teenage children?) walked by and looked in the engine bay. He saw my flathead engine and made the comment "it's got a diesel motor in it". Does that qualify as uninterested/uneducated or just downright stupid? My mate and I certainly had a good chuckle between us as old mate walked away to inspect the next vehicle on display.
  14. No fond memories here of WDT removal.... but I have replaced it with a copper one now.
  15. I ran into a friend at a car show today who asked me to help him identify a NOS radiator which he had. The radiator appears to be stamped with part # A1461436. He was of the opinion that it was from a B-series Dodge truck, but it has a curve in the inside of the top radiator tank which I have not seen before and the top flow outlet looks different to the trucks which I have worked with here. Please see photos attached..
  16. I also had a look at Bruces' truck which he has fitted with a Cummins 6BT engine..
  17. It was good to catch with fellow member IanT at the 2015 Queensland Chrysler Expo this morning. I have attached a few photos of vehicles at the event....
  18. I run a 180 degree hi-flow thermostat in my 52 truck Jeff. I drove the truck to a car show today (will start a thread with photos later) which was about an hour drive each way. The earlier drive saw the temp gauge sit steady on 160 degrees, but the weather was a bit hotter on the way home (82 degrees in your talk) so the temp gauge sat steady on 165 degrees all the way home. I am a strong believer of running thermostats in our engine's.
  19. Another old photo from my friend Janie - appears to be an old Australian Ambulance from around 1954-56....
  20. The Jeep shackles look like they will work well Ed. Be sure that you get the correct left and right thread combinations.
  21. I had a friend send me some old photos this morning which I thought that others here might enjoy. They look to be Australian vehicles... most likely from our Keswick SA Chrysler plant....
  22. The old DD still looks good to me. You could paint him with one of those rust-look paints... http://www.sprayonrustpaint.co.uk/... to keep PP on side !!
