    Test

I scored 100, but I kept track of how many I guessed on. in other words if they hadn't given me a choice, I wouldn't have come up with the answer. There was quite a few. I agree there was some questions that were, well questionable, but they always say pick "the best answer". 48D
  2. What did you do the first time? Rebuild with Std. bearings etc...or did you have machine work done..ie crank grind, bored cylinders, valve job....I don't remember what you told me. 48d
  3. Thermal dynamics, increase in manifold tempature, volumetric efficiency, dynamic cylinder pressures, variants in air ramming....vs. static compression ratios....that's all I was trying to say. You have got to come to the BBq Don. 48D
  4. Your probably floating your valves, and getting a lot of unburned gas in the exhaust, which can equal a lot of smoke. I would think going up hill your compression would rise and let oil in causing oil smoke. Not downhill. I remember the smoke on our trip to Reg's. Does it have a fludder sound when going downhill? Just curious. 48D
  5. As always, your truck inspires me. nice pictures. 48D:cool:
  6. Doesn't quite look like a 8 3/4 rear-end. that would be late sixties. The third member looks to short. Find out yet? 48D
  7. Clements, California 40mins south of Sacremento 48D:cool:
  8. Sorry Greg, I noticed the fact it was a poll after my post. I must have missed it when it was active. 48D
  9. Hey, good point Dutch. I'm not on the California list. Can this be updated? It would be nice to make sure people who are part of this forum, in our areas, know about the meets. There might be some who don't check the forum regularly but would want go to the BBQ's. 48D
  10. I'm planning a BBQ at my house in Clements , California......I wanted to extend the invitation to ALL the Mopars on this site. Its set for 4/27/2008. Details are still being worked out, but the date is pretty solid. The original thread is on the Piolthouse side and it would be great if any P15-D24 guys could make it! Read the original thread or post here, I'll follow both. 48D
  11. Hey guys, Superbowl weekend is FEB 3rd, 2008 in Arizona. Go 49ers! 48D
  12. Nice Vin, I look forward to reading this thread so I can "pick-up" some ideas for our thing, and maybe consider crashing yours! I mean... if I can afford the gas....... 48D
  13. Nice truck Barry. Welcome to the club! Tell us about your truck. Old family work horse, V8 experiment, border patrol, whiskey runner, nieghbors flower pot? How did you come by two? 48D
  14. Just incase you forgot Reg, this what it looked like last time you tried to race me in your "tower".........lol. 48D
  15. I understand that money will be an important topic. My only goal would be to break even. If we make a profit due to entry/donations I imagine the club officers would take over at that point. I'm donating my time, and my place for the shear joy of being surrounded by awesome mopars,... and beating Reg in a smackdown lawnmower race. Fund raising is a little beyond me at this point, because I have never done it. But, we have the date. I believe we can plan a meeting next, and try to cover the bases. Either send me a private message, or post on this thread if you would like to be involved in the development of the event. This should be fun, and I plan on making/keeping it that way. : ) 48D
  16. Dodge Brothers Society of Murphys, please......come on over! I had dinner at my brothers house tonight, and he had a few ideas concerning parking and such if everyone shows up. Even Don Coatney. So, I feel more confident about the parking issue. Hey Tod, the ad looks great! 48D
  17. April 27th sounds good. I've recieved a few private emails saying they like the date too. I'll search the clander of events in our area and see if it conflicts with anything major. If anybody wants to help, send me an email and I'll try to set up a chat room date or pizza party meeting....or both. 48D
  18. Thanks Don for the kind words. I'll look for you in the pits next season, I can always use another "wrench". Reg, I'll race you in anything, any day! lol. How about Lawn Mower races for fun? By all means Tod, come on over. If you can't make it, send your car. I guess I should post this on the P15-D24 side too. Unless they're a bunch of reckless party animals. Nahhh, they should be alright. SF is about 2 hours away. Plymouth is about 45 minutes away. We have a 600 hundred arces ranch. We rent it out to family for beef cattle. Family ties to this ranch go back to 1900. I'll post some pictures of my place to help figure this thing out. The pastures are still green in April, but start to turn begining in May. May is still good, but not as nice as March, April. April is usally loaded with events around here, like the Plymouth Truck Show, but if we plan it right, it'll be fine. For those who are curious, I'm 43, work in Radiology, race stock cars, restore late sixties muscle cars, and newly involved in the preservation of Pilothouse Trucks. 48D
  19. Hey Everyone, Anybody who would like to come out to my house and BBQ with the "West Coast Gang" is invited. I have plenty of room. I have no details and would really like to hear from those who would like to come, so I can make it a fun event. I was thinking along the lines of a club party as opposed to a "truck show", but you guys tell me.......I'm looking for a date in the Spring and what you would like to see at the BBQ (ie band, music, demostrations like welding and paint, magic..etc.) Looking forward to doing this, hope you can make it! 48D
  20. Hey Jim, I'll come over and give you hand. Kinda interested in the heater deal. 48D
  21. You're right Reg. Its not there. I'll jump on it right away. I have that movie too....funny I didn't remember seeing it.
  22. Most gas starts to go bad in 90 days. condensation doesn't help either. Take your time and "work out" the downtime the truck has gone through. Write down all the little things you notice as you comb the truck with curiousity (i.e. the wires you saw, brake pedal, rust spots on the frame, missing bolt heads....). These are two very good books I would recommend. Dodge B-Series Trucks I]Resotorer's & Collectors Reference Guide and History[/i] Don Bunn This gives you a feel of where the truck comes from history wise. Project Charger "The step-by-step restoration of a popular vintage car" Larry Lyles This book is by far one of my favorites as far as restoring vehicles in general. It gives you an idea of what to expect of yourself, as well of people you hire to do work for you. It's a good way to baseline your skills. No matter how you restore your truck, you need a point of reference. I've made a lot of friends on this site, I know you will too. Good luck 48D
  23. I came across a pretty cool website yesterday. imcdb.org (Internet Movie Car Data Base) It catalogs all makes and models in main stream and off beat movies. I looked up DODGE and found movies that the pilothouse was used in. very cool. I didn't know one appeared in WHITE CHRISTMAS! When the stage crew is unloading a truck outside the lodge, its a Pilothouse! Oh well, I got excited anyway. I have the dvd of WC, so I put it in and got a good laugh out of it. 48D
  24. Racing season is almost over.....broke a few things, made a few. lol I'm trying to buy a 1 ton flat bed 48' from a guy in Linden, which means I'm still collecting parts! So how many week-ends do you have free Jim?
  25. Still working out the bugs in my schedule, but yeah, having a BBQ in the spring. I'll start a thread soon so I can nail down a date. Welcome to the club...find the thread "ever ride in pilothouse" and you learn a little about some of us west coast guys. 48D
