I'll know more on Friday. It will be on my truck at the BBQ so others may be able to fully identify it.

Plymouthy, he posted it at $100 on CL. when I called him he lowered the price to $5.00. So I did post incorrectly yet at $5.00 I view it as a "gift". My bad!

This pic is as close as I have come. This number is on the tunnel, so it must have been a production frame for some one. Today I reaffirmed my purchase and set a pickup date for Friday noon a slight side trip to the BBQ. My checkoff list is down to ten inconsequential items. See you at the "Q"? I hope so.

Brent: is it possible she is coming by herself? She can be a bit independent! LOL -
Part two and some pictures. The most difficult is attaching those clips. With the regulator down, they are accessible but the snap on and that snap for me is difficult. I found that once it's all together, then the window travel adjustment is via the front guide and the three bolts. The holes are elongated to fine tune. i have a problem. My glass is very tight so that I think it is not cut accurately. What is the maximum length, side to side. The glass is not square, the lesding edge increases and then becomes parallel. I think my glass man has been mixing cuts and we no longer have a pure pattern. TKS in advance.

Mine is the frame with the PVC pipe over the top. I agree with bisquick, mine is not an Empi, yet is will be a great project with my gramdson. To be continued. DJ: I see it this way, sand won't burn! LOL

So the front fender difference was someone's fender preference, and the windshield mount also. I other words, it's unlikely that today there would be two alike?

Packards had both straight 6's and 8's, so that should be a vote for an R11. I like overdrives because a lot of shifting is done with the foot pedal. Five speed trannys require clutching and manual shifting. I like my hands on the steering wheel.

My glass source installed new windows, fire destroyed my others. They installed the rear window incorrectly, and did not install the long enough window guides so the windows fell and . . . . So Saturday they were to correct their faulty work. By days end not even one door was done, so I drove Phoenix to my shop, removed everything and started over. In 90 minutes I had the driver's door window reinstalled. Will install the other door tomorrow. Now that I know how, it won't take that long. It still rings true, learn how to do it and be self sufficient. What i learned: 1) reinstall the front guide but only the top bolt so the bottom can swing away to allow the window pane to rotate into position. 2) install the 54" one piece window guide, 3) "quick tie" the guide at the top of the door so it stays in place, 4) install the guide down into the door and press it into the guide rails, 5) install the glass, walk it all the way to the top by hand, 6) attach the guide at the bottom of the pane to the regulator, 7) reach into the door cavity and apply pressure against the forward guide against the pane as you lower it, 8) now install the two remaining bolts and adjust that front guide for an even up and down movement. Will do the other door tomorrow, it's a bit tedious but well worth the effort. I still have to install the four rubber guides before it gets the Goodhouse Keeping Seal of Approval.

Is an "airboat" akin to an "air ball"? "Just a little off!"???

Tim, don't worry about the ranch environment tidiness. If you did nothing to the yard, and had us park our vehicles in the pasture across the fence, we would still come. The even is about the people and the stories about their vehicles. For example, the elderly gentleman from Washington who drove his stock '47 1.5 ton truck the full distance, seems he passed on the next year, and the fantastic old totally restored 'late '30's trucks with the 500 hp engines build by a "salty" dog truck driver, and Brets trucks from Oregon, or the young man who drove nonstop from Wisconsin, and of course our mate from down under, and "Tom, and Dick, and Harry! And finally Hillary mentioned that she lost because she DIDN'T attend! So not to worry, we are coming! -
Back in the 80's I bought my son a new 427 Yamaha enduro. One afternoon I took it for a short ride, I only made it to third gear and when that engine hit its power band, it nearly dumped me on my butt, I cut the throttle and put it back in the shop, too much bike for me.

Seems the 'blessed lady' is testing you! LOL

Merle, that .59 is the monthly rise in taxes in California. LOL

Well the buyer suddenly went quiet, so it's now for sale at $600. 59, there is no point in selling something you suspect. At my age, sleep is hard enough to come by as it is. You gonna make the "las Vegas West" BBQ? I hope so.

With my lift safety check, and my successful mountain road test behind me, today I felt worthy to attach the forum indents. I put one in the window to remind me of the membership privilege and the one on the tailgate a bit askew beside the recycle icon to remind those who follow that I recycle and that perfection is not a prerequisite to this hobby, but active participation is! -
Knuck, what you say is true, yet the two topics that can very quickly divide a family or social group are religion and politics! The originators of this forum wisely recognized that when they formatted this forum. I was banned early on due to what I thought was a very innocent joke, I quickly accepted that and proceeded after my suspension without any animosity. We have so so much to share, discuss, and build that the exclusion of those are in no way negative omissions. JMHO paul Flaming, aka pflaming. Best to all!

YES! And rightly so. Cars are not political, they are neutral physical objects. Maybe this entire thread should be deleted. I would encourage the administration to do so!

This literary figure of speech is not understood by most people who think it means "something unusual went wrong"! Irony is when an intended action resulted in the opposite response!
-
I really don't need nor should have another project but this seeming manufactured frame is unusual. It even has a production/serial number on it. The seller is looking for VW engine, transmission, and rear axle parts for me. I think I will have my 13 year old grandson, who lives with us, under my guidance rebuild it into a street legal, two passenger dune buggy. Then I have an economical run down town vehical. Have two pair of rear tires.
-
Update, my truck made up the hill today, so I'm nearly ready to pick up this frame on my way to the BBQ. Maybe someone there can help identify what it is or could be.
