  1.  Hey there  pflaming .always real interested in what you have to say because my truck which I just got is a 53 and all of your rebuilding forum entries have really helped me get more information on reworking mine.I seen in one of your rebuilding post that you used a harness from ezwiring and I was wondering which one of the wiring harness is kityou had bought. Also I was wondering what kind of a rear bumper do you have in your truck I have some fabricated steel diamond plate bumper it looks like the one that was posted on Pinterest on the back of a fire department pick up truck and I was wondering if that was a stock bumper that they could order for that application or if it was just aftermarket one because I'd like to go back to her original bumper .I have a 218 stock motor with a four-speed trans I got a neighbor with a 355 Jeep Cherokee rear, I was thinking about putting in instead of their original 4.11 -so I was wondering what kind a road speed  we can I get out of that if I use the 650x16original stock tires and wheels ? What kind of wms difference is there between the the jeep and the original rear? Thanks

Email me at pflaming@mail.fresnostate.edu and I can more quickly respond. In short, I used the $180 harness in my SUBURBAN and I wired the truck myself.. I would NOT spend the money on a harness for the truck (see my reply on email) 2. rear bumpers like mine are hard to find, yet there was never a OEM bumper. 3. I am thinking of putting a 3:55 rear axle behind a four speed because 3rd gear in the combo would be nearly the same as 3rd in a 3:73 combo and 4th then would in effect be an overdrive or cruse drive. I changed to 15" rims and radial tires. The difference in ride and handling is amazing. I also removed the next to bottom leave in all springs for a lower center of gravity and a better ride.

I cruse at 60-65 with my 218 and the 3"73 rear axle, the next gear would drop engine noise in the cab drastically.

I pleased my posts were helpful.
