Hey thanks Greg for reminding me of that site. I went through and printed all the Dodge,Plymouth and Chrysler engine specs. for 1930-59. I'm gonna enlarge them and wall paper a wall in the garage with them.

Keep an eye on it. When it closes without any bids you can make the deal you want MAYBE.

I tried a set on my 42 6volt coupe and they weren't any brighter than my already dim sealed beams. In fact maybe even dimmer. Maybe with all new wire and switch they would be brighter.

Mine has for almost 10 years now. I did paint it with oil based enamel paint. You can see by this photo why I opted for the plywood. Mine is still "Job Rated"

I hope it works Pete! My 59 Wagon has a vibration at about 55 mph and it didn't go away with a new balanced drive shaft. When I got this wagon it had a big dent in the drive shaft so I had a new one made. I hope it's not a bent transmission tail shaft.

Here's the one I'm gonna use instead. It fits the 56 Plymouth 2 bbl manifold. Sorry Ed.

Charlie, Here's the progressive 2 bbl carb that Tom Langdon recomended I use on my 230 2 bbl intake. Man...it sure has a small primary barrel. The air cleaner he sells has an adapter that fits the oval carb opening. The opening measures approx. 2 7/8" x 4 1/2". I'm not sure I'm going to use it since I found a NOS Carter 2 bbl that fots the studs on my 230 2 bbl manifold.

My 38 Dodge coupe with a transplanted 52 Dodge 230 and only 2K miles since a complete rebuild is my fastest old mopar in my collection including my 52 1/2 ton with a 251. I'm always amazed at it's power compared to the others. I don't know if the head was shaved or not but,if not,the c.r. is suppose to be 7.0 and h.p.at 103. In my junk pile I have a stoved up 59 Dodge 230 and it is rated at 8.0 c.r. with h.p. at 135. Now, if I have that head cleaned up and milled a little can I expect to get at least 30 more horses out of the 52 engine????? Can it really be that simple????? or were there other internal differences in the 52 vs. 59 engines. Oh yeah,I'll also be adding cast iron headers and a 2 bbl carb. Should I add a drogue chute

I can measure a pilot shaft on a 4 speed granny with synchro if that will help.

Yeah.....I'm obsessed I guess. My grand kids call me Grandpa Dodge or just plain Dodge when they're in a hurry. I love it !!!! Every bike or pedal car I have givin them over the years always gets a few DODGE emblems added.

If you're not going for show do like I did. A good grade of 3/4" plywood painted black,like the oak was painted, with the metal bed strips bolted to that. Only the purists will know. I'll post a photo after I'm done. It's dark brown right now and I haven't installed the strips.

That's very cool but I'll bet the driver hears a lot of this. "Are We There Yet?" I Know first hand cause I built this about 13 years ago and use to take the kids camping in it until we all got too big.

Which brake gets the 2 lb pressure.......Front or rear? On my 1/2 ton I have shoes all the way around but I installed a 1966 T-Bird rear end for better hwy speeds. The other day I had to come to a screaching stop to avoid hitting a car that was stopped in the middle of the road around a blind curve. Only the front wheels locked up. I have tried backing off the front brake adjustment a little and this did not help. If I remember correctly the T-Bird shoes are larger and the brake lines are smaller diameter than the original front brakes. I'm wondering if a proportioning valve would even out the pressure.

You could order your stake body from several different makers such as Midwest,Obeco,Perfection and Gerstenslager. I use to own a 48 1 ton with a bed just like this one with the rounded front corners. Shoulda kept it. I bought in Benicia,Ca. for $225 in the early 90's and drove it 120 miles to my home.
