  1. I've had sucess with JB welding on some new pins.
  2. I'd like to find a 265 flattie.
  3. Wait !!!! Over time the contact on the manual switch gets so dirty or so pitted that it doesn't complete the circuit any more. If you bypass that switch and make direct contact with the copper contact under that switch you'll know if the starter motor is still functioning.
  4. It's really quite simple Don. Marriage #1 resulted in 1 daughter, Marriage #2 resulted in 3 sons, and Marriage #3 (the charm) resulted in 2 daughters. 40 Years !!!!
  5. I didn't burn mine but I did destroy it. It went thru the washing machine a couple of times. My Draft status changed from 1A to 1Y when my fiance informed me that I was going to be a dad. That was in 67 and I had already passed the army induction centers physical and was stamped "good to go". I still have an 18 year old daughter at home 40 YEARS LATER !
  6. Oh...OK...on the 38 it looks like maybe they made a little custom rod that attaches under the center of the visor and then down to the cowl. I'll give that a try. Thanks kids !
  7. Paging Jim Shepherd.......Will Jim Shepherd please come to the forum.
  8. I have a working one Paul. You can PM me.
  9. A car without a split windshield ? All the ones I have seen have the center arm that attached to the center windshield divider. I's like to put one on my 38.
  10. If all is stock on your 41 you can remove this manual switch on top of the starter and attach a jumper cable from the neg battery terminal to the contact on the starter. If it spins the manual switch is at fault. If not the starter is.
  11. This image mysteriously appeared on my brother's grape fruit tree the night after he was notified by the city of West Palm Beach that his prize tree was going to be removed by city workers due to some kind of pest they were trying to eliminate. A real miracle !
  12. Yeah...a photo of the old boat would be interesting too. My old 1957 Redfish has been dry docked for a while now. One O these days I'll restore it. It looks like this one. Big fins!!!!
  13. Well yeah .......plus the red handle option actually adds a little horse power.
  14. I bought this one a couple of weeks ago from the local NAPA auto parts store for my 38 bizzy coupe. They have a seperate truck department in the rear with some old timers manning the counter. The hose bib handle makes it easy to open and close unlike those little wing nut type.
  15. What does the valve for 42 look like?
  16. Franco, Is your steering box missing or is it just really sloppy? The steering box can be adjusted.
  17. Here's one on eBay as mentioned earlier. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Heater-Valve-1949-52-NOS-MoPar-Plymouth-Dodge-DeSoto_W0QQitemZ140137275800QQihZ004QQcategoryZ34197QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. Yes. I'm about 45 minutes from Marysville by car. My auto body man has a shop there. Next time I'm down there I'll go have a look with camera in hand.
  19. Hey Don, Brown's Valley is just down the road from me here in Grass Valley. I wonder what mine he was working in ? Just for fun I looked in the local phone book and found an L. Coatney in Nevada Co. None in Yuba Co.
  20. Here's another style of heater valve. This one is on my 42 Dodge D22 engine. The valve is mounted on top of the water pump. I've never seen one on the thermostat housing.
  21. They were made for the 25" blocks or larger. I paid $700 for a stuck engine just to get these parts.
  22. Sorry nobody saved you from learning the hard way. I started out looking on the DPETCA for an image to post here for you and contracted A.D.D. and went off on some other tangent.
  23. From what I've seen the 1/2 ton has a ~3/8" smaller bolt pattern than the 3/4 ton. What does the bolt circle measure center to center on your 16" wheels?
  24. Thanks Bob !!!!....no excuses now.
