  1. I'm convinced both of my cars enjoy getting out for a run. Also convinced the one I don't take out pouts in the garage and is "cranky" when I get finally around to exercising it
  2. Welcome form Orange County A stocker or,.... modified? Stay tuned for the next get-together.
  3. Great pics. You don't get this stuff unless you seize the opportunity of a break in the weather, go for a ride and take your camera. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Answer to the question, "doncha get wet with no top?" Well yeah,..... but ya don't die! That's sometimes the cost of having fun. Neat pic too,...in my opinion.
  5. How 'bout a pic of the 3/4" diff.? Been there done that too many times. Hate when that happens
  6. I scanned this thread and did not find any entries of my projects. If I missed that and they are duplicates, I apologize. 360 in my P15 - 325 dodge Hemi in my Roadster
  7. Welcome! I echo the comments offered by several others. There are a few blokes here who are a little less than comfortable with the idea of "Hot Rodding" our Mopars. However, they are good soles and generous with their information in spite of our puzzling ways. In my opinion,...a build thread is a "requirement". Good luck, welcome and keep us posted.
  8. That's beautiful! What some folks don't get is that you, or others, are not there "because" you love cold weather, but because there are also other redeeming values for you in that particular locale. Formerly from Michigan, I am now a So Cal guy but it's not "because" I like 100 degrees and traffic, but because for me, there are other redeeming values of where I have chosen to live. Interestingly, those who live in North or the desert or the steamy South don't die! They just make the most of what they have or move. It's called balance.
  9. We just had the best time. Spaced on the group shot because we were like a bunch of chatty school girls. Everyone was genuinely interested in getting to know each other. We'll definitely do it again. I'm thinkin should be on the West side of town so's guys out that way don't have so far to drive. Re the request for names w/faces
  10. I second the advice from BobK re Hot Heads. They are very knowledgable and very generous with their advice. My 325 Hemi started life as a 315 Poly. Your '58 325 Poly is the last year that architecture was produced for Dodge/Ply. The 318 Poly as a different block as pointed out by Andydodge. The 318 Poly valve covers have a more "saw tooth" character than the softer scalloped 315/325 Poly. These are the valve covers. Disregard the engine. I believe just about any speed equipment for the Dodge Hemi will bolt on to the Poly,....except cam spects are diff. Modern Mopar 340 electronic dist, (w/Hot Heads shaft) and oil pump work and are very reasonable from Summit Racing. I converted my dist. with a GM HEI module.
  11. this is the U.S. Radiator I mentioned earlier mounted to the front of the core support.
  12. I've been outta commission for awhile so have lost the threat on this thread. I seem to recall I offered donuts. I'm good for that. Can someone provide an approximate head count?
  13. Understand the price is a hit. For what it's worth, the U.S. aluminum unit is an all welded assembly which is repairable. I believe the other more affordable units are all glued assemblies often with plastic tanks. They cannot be repaired, only replaced.
  14. U.S.Radiator in LA has the perfect solution. http://www.usradiator.com/ It's for a 50's Chevy pickup with a V8. Off the shelf, available in aluminum, or copper brass. Only had to redrill 2 holes in the flange. I used it in my 48 Coupe with Mopar 360 and mounted to the front side of the core support. I have pics if you need. PM me if you need more.
  15. Just clicked on this thread so I may have missed some of the earlier comments, But,.......if you've already invested in the wheels/tires, hub spacers is the easiest most cost effective fix. That being said, check (as mentioned) if they are 14"ers and in particular of they are for a front wheel drive car. You can get 15" Ford or Mopar wheels all day long, for RWD cars that should solve your problem and could cost little more than the good quality spacers.
  16. I installed a 360 (same OD as 318) and auto trans with Volare rearend in my P-15. New IFS. Addressed many of the issues you are asking about. Check http://p15-d24.com/topic/22985-im-back/page-6 for my build thread. It's rather sparse now on pics because the major chunks of building and decision making occurred a number of years ago and I have moved many of the pics. Check my PhotoBucket album http://smg.photobucket.com/user/wstory/library/PlyProj2011?sort=6&page=1 I'm very pleased with how the build worked out. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Here's a pic to get you "piqued".
  17. I seem to remember that I used an adapter to a Ford steering shaft. Spline count was the same.
  18. That is a "gasp"! Hope you're able to get it fixed by the 17th.
  19. Jarv, You can't buy "custom" brackets. You build'm or pay someone else to do so. Anything you imagine, like "seats out of a Suburban" will require some modification/fabrication. Get out the tape measure and go to the wrecking yard. I like bench seats so here's what I did,...so far. - - I see your in LA. Why not join us for the Old Mopar Breakfast January 17. Go to the "OT Forum" and check the thread "Old Mopar Breakfast"
  20. Roundeye, If memory serves, I originally installed a Grant steering wheel (smaller dia.) when my car was essentially stock. However, it looked like a Hotrod because it also had big 'n littles and a rake via cut coils. That got me started on "the look" with almost no cost. It was a good start. Yes, a smaller wheel increases steering effort and the ride a little stiffer but that's the cost of looking cool. I never regretted that,....the extra effort required that is .
  21. What a great story. You certainly have your priorities in order, beautiful daughter, together family and the reward for a job well done. The Chrysler looks like a great car and one that you can plan projects around as you attend to life with the family.
  22. I have invited two other blokes from No. San Diego Co. They will join us via a 49 Plymouth Woody.
  23. This is coming together nicely! A thought since no one has mentioned "WEATHER" ,......how 'bout we plan on a confirmation or a reschedule if the weather is crumbly? I suggest our meeting be confirmed or cancelled via this thread on Sat. Jan 16, at or about 6:00pm. We should have a pretty accurate forecast for the morning at that time. And,...in so doing we avoid the dilemma of deciding weather or knot to start out Sunday morning.
  24. I like silicone spray too! I think parafin might collect dust and grit.
