  1. I've just had a second run of these made for our Rhythm Riot festival. The pin-up girls were drawn by Vince Ray, famous UK low-brow artist, and the tag toppers were cast by O'Brien Truckers. 2. Well done, Greenbomb. You are certainly the closest. It's a British Ford - a Mk1 Zephyr Six. The red and black one is actually a 54-56 model but you are correct that the earlier models had the turn signals on the B-posts (those signals are called trafficators). These cars were powered by a 2262cc straight six OHV engine. Ford UK originally planned to sell the US built shoebox in Britain but it was decided that it was just too big for the British roads. The Mk1 Zephyr (and the 1508cc 4-cylinder Consul) were designed as scaled down versions of the US car. A couple of pictures below - this is the actual car I used to own. I restored it to showroom condition but had too much money tied up in it, so had to sell it to help fund the purchase of our first house.
  3. And I had a convertible. Just seeing if any of our American friends can ID it. I'll give the answer tomorrow if nobody gets it. R.
  4. Hey Andy, The wonders of the internet... Check out the pictures below. They are certainly odd designs. I got them from: http://www.funeralcoaches.com.au/history-of-australian-hearses-featured.html
  5. Hey Eric & Neil, I LOVE having the bus at the festival. We hire it to provide a free shuttle service into the local town, all day Saturday and Sunday. We first used it three years ago (intended to be a one-off feature) but it was so popular that we've kept on providing it. It costs us about $2500 for the weekend. It's a 1956 Bedford SB and it took a lot of research to locate one we could hire. There are quite a few in private hands but the owners don't hold the licenses for use as a public service vehicle. Luckily, this one is owned by a family-run transport company, so no such problem. Everyone has a great time riding in such a fabulous machine. Here are a couple of pictures.... Does anyone know what the black and red car is?
  6. Hi Guys, I've just been sent this link to a 10-minute documentary about our Rhythm Riot festival. Melanie made the film as a project for her masters degree in electronic media. She's done a great job. Look out for... a couple of shots of my P15 in the opening sequences Paul Bone (P11 owner and Forum member) at 3'12" Deano's P15 2-door sedan at 3'33" and Andy with his D24 at 3'40" There's also lots of footage of me and my wife, Colette, talking!!! Our interview was at the Ace Cafe. The film captures the event quite well. I hope you like it. Here's the link:
  7. Seems they are looking for a substantial profit on this one, considering what was paid for it at auction... http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=669&aid=304&pop=1
  8. My guess is that it's the Hot Heads East meet in Germany. Haven't been, but heard good things about it. Check some pictures at http://www.oldhotrodparts.de/hotheadseast/photos.html
  9. Welcome aboard! You have a great car - and I really like the beige color. I share your love of stylish cars, vintage clothing and historic buildings. You'll enjoy yourself on this Forum. Best wishes from England. Robin
  10. Nice score, Bob! Congratulations. Luckily, my car has those parts already.
  11. scored 3.8 overall. 0.1 was my best individual score, on one of the bisections. found the center of the circle to be the most difficult.
  12. I'd say it's a modern picture, judging by the girl's hairstyle, shoes, dress and accessories. But I agree... nice legs.
  13. Hey Bob, How about Boppin Steve, from Sweden?... He played our Rhythm Riot festival in November. He sounds just like The Killer himself. It's uncanny!
  14. A friend of mine has just imported this Nash into the UK. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to checking it out. It looks like a really nice car.
  15. That's terribly sad news. Sincere condolences to Norm's family.
  16. I'd vote that it's a genuine convertible. The doors are correct, and so is the windshield header. It looks like the top has been fitted incorrectly, in order to give a bigger rear window area, so with the top up the proportions are all wrong. The front screen height looks correct (it's 12" on the convertible/woody and 14" on all P15 hard tops). The rear fender side trim is wrong. So are the hubcaps. And the sill plates. There's also an extra piece of trim on the hood, under the ornament. Also, the door garnish molding chrome trims aren't correct on a convertible. So... quite a few extra bits of bling, but the front fender 'special deluxe' badges are missing. It clearly needs a bit of work, but it's going to make a nice car for someone. Happy bidding! R.
  17. Yes, I love those trims. They looks so good on the car. The picture captures the motion with the turn in of the front wheels and the slight body roll as the car enters a right hand turn.
  18. Someone just sent me this picture of my Plymouth, enduring a cold, wet November drive. I love the sense of motion in the shot.
  19. Thanks Guys, Really appreciate all your input. Here are my problems.... PAINT CODES - as mentioned, the base paints have changed, so old codes and mixes won't quite match. UK SYSTEMS - UK base paints are different again, making it impossible to cross-refer to US systems, even if I can get an up-to-date code/formula from the same manufacturer SPECTROMETER - I am told by paint experts that red tints are notoriously difficult to match with a spectrometer It looks like I'll have to buy a couple of vintage chips from one of the literature dealers and get a visual match made. (or I could go round and steal Bob T's dashboard! ) Thanks for all your recommendations. Robin.
  20. Hi All, Sadly, my search for a sample of Sumac Red hasn't come to fruition. So I'm still hoping someone out there in Plymouthland can help. Does anyone have a well-matched mix that they could spray onto a small piece of metal or plastic and post to me in the UK? (approx 6 inches square should be OK) I'll happily cover costs and make a donation to the Forum. Thanks guys. Robin.
  21. It's a Standard Vanguard, approx 1950. The first picture shows the early grille. The second picture shows the pick-up body, with later grille.
  22. Hey Ron and Heather, What great news! CONGRATULATIONS to you both. All the best from England. Robin. PS Are you guys gonna make another UK trip before the family comes along?
  23. I think the name is OSLER. Still can't find anything about him/her on the web, though.
  24. But will your keys ever be really correct without an original P15 keyring?.... I scored this on Ebay many years ago.
  25. darned kids!
