  1. and here are some pictures taken by my friend in California... http://www.flickr.com/photos/pro_photo/sets/72157624474352526/show/
  2. Thanks guys, This is all great advice... and much appreciated. I'll call Steele to see what they have. R.
  3. Hi Guys, I think the time has come to make sure the doors on my convertible are fixed properly, and re-fitted. I'd like to get all the parts needed before strip-down - the doors are complete but I could do with fixing all the weatherstripping, rubbers, window sweepers, etc. so I just wonder if anyone else has done this recently and can recommend a supplier and/or give me a list of what I need? Thanks. Robin.
  4. I have a guy ready to build me a 6 volt flip-flop relay to use with my OD. Does anyone know the the current draw through the governor? Thanks. R.
  5. Tom, I know a guy in the UK who is looking for a P15 wheel. Please could you give me (him) first option on it? I will contact him and get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you. Robin. PS Please PM me with the price. Thanks.
  6. Actually Don, I think you'll have to bear right from New York... I'd hate for you to get lost on the way.
  7. Rally Of the Giants is a UK show that will be held on 18th July. I'll be there on Sunday, William. Looking forward to seeing your Coupe. Never done the overnight thing at the show so not really sure what goes on, but I believe there is a road run. Hope you enjoy it. See you on 18th. R.
  8. That's the info I remembered reading. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Now... I just need to find a 6v switching relay. R.
  9. Headers and dual exhaust... Let the engine breathe and you'll notice a HUGE difference. My P15 has now also got a dual carb intake and high-compression head. But if you want to make a big impact... fast... go with the exhaust first. Just my 2c worth (that's about 1.5p in English money)
  10. Hi Guys, I've finally managed to find a working Shift-Rite shifter knob that I want to use as an overdrive switch for my P15 (I think the Shift-Rite was originally an aftermarket accessory for Mopar fluid drive applications). The button sits with an open circuit that only contacts when pressed, so I'll need to use a 6-volt switching relay to open and close the OD circuit. I think someone on here did something similar, using a microswitch on their shifter knob. Can anyone give me the correct specification and or supplier information for the relay I need? Thanks. Robin.
  11. Hi Guys, I'm gathering information and resources for an exhibition about the birth of skateboarding in the late 50s and early 60s, and its association with surfing, beach culture, low-brow art, etc. I've been sent these two fabulous pictures taken in SoCal in 1965. Can anyone ID all the cars? I'm terrible at identifying 60s automobiles. Thanks. Robin.
  12. James, Jumping with the board 'attached' to your feet is called 'an ollie'. Here's how to do it... It's taken me a long time, but I've just about mastered it well enough to ollie up a kerb.
  13. Christian looks really good on that board. My 9 year-old son, Henry, is also a really keen skateboarder. Here's a recent picture. He's been skating about 18 months. It amazes me what he, and the other kids, can do. I can understand your pride. Here's something different... I ride with him, quite regularly. Here's very short video of me riding a 12ft ramp. And a picture of 'our gang' with our 'team bus', last week. That's me on the left, with Henry in green. Robin.
  14. The P15 hood ornament's a real work of art. I took this photo last weekend.
  15. Looks real nice, Bill. Here's the link to the auction... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Plymouth-Special-Deluxe-1941-Plymouth-Convertible-40-39-38-37-36-35-Chrysler-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19bc8c323eQQitemZ110537486910QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks#ht_500wt_974
  16. Not yet, Michael. They are still in California, with my friend. He consolidates all my 'vintage junk' for shipping. I think they'll be on their way soon. R.
  17. My wife and I went to a 1940s day with our P15 today, enjoying the first real day of sunshine in the UK this year. We met Paul Bone and his wife there, with their beautiful P7 coupe. Here's a picture of Paul and me with the two beautiful girls... and our wives!!! (only joking, guys) Robin.
  18. Wow! Look at all these great cars. It's the Dead Heat Car Show in Japan... http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/cometsrides/Dead%20Heat%20Car%20Show%202010/?albumview=slideshow
  19. Yesterday was the traditional first car meet of the season in the UK... Surrey Street Rodders Wheels Day. As always, a bunch of us met up at the Ace Cafe to cruise to the show together. The weather forecast was atrocious, so some of the guys had already decided not to take their cars, although we did end up with 9, including mine and Deano's P15s and a really nice 60 Plymouth. Anyway, the rain came... and fell hard... and turned the field into a swamp. It also got really cold so we spent a lot of the time sitting in our cars. Sadly, my car now has a problem with the exhaust. Either a small split or a loose baffle in one of the silencers. It's making a horrible noise and the balance of the engine has been thrown completely. One to fix! Even worse... one of the other guys had to have his 36 Ford coupe recovered from the roadside. His generator bracket broke, launching the fan forward... through the rad! It looked nasty! All in all, an eventful day out. I still enjoyed it, though!
  20. Hi Guys, Does anyone have a spare Special Deluxe fender badge, they'd be willing to sell? Specifically, I'm looking for one in very good or new condition, with all three lugs intact. I need it to match the style pictured below: - please note: the loops in the 'P' and 'D' are 'squared' there is infill to the 'S' and the last 'E' the 'fat' part of the 'U' is on the right There are a few different castings and pressings of these badges and I'm trying to match a good one that's already on my car. Thanks. Robin.
  21. Here you go, guys.... It sure is a fun job!
  22. Hey, You'll have a great time. We took our son to Florida in the summer of 2008. Make sure you check out the Kennedy Space Center - allow a whole day for your visit. It is absolutely amazing. The highlight of the trip for me. Also, if you can get to Fort Lauderdale, I'd recommend the dinner show at the Mai Kai restaurant. It's a 1950s Polynesian themed relic, with hula dancers and live music. A real slice of nostalgia. Hope you have a great time. Robin.
  23. Hi Garry, Hope you can make it to ROG this year. Looks like Deano and I will meet up with Richard and his D25, and all travel together. If Bob's there, as usual, with his yellow P15 coupe, we could have at least 5 of us in one place. That would be a great photo opportunity. R.
  24. A friend just gave me an old calendar that included this picture of a 42 Chrysler wagon. It must be an extremely rare and valuable car. I'd never seen a picture of one before. Just thought I'd share it.
  25. I've just had a second run of these made for our Rhythm Riot festival. The pin-up girls were drawn by Vince Ray, famous UK low-brow artist, and the tag toppers were cast by O'Brien Truckers.
