  1. I never seen one of those. Looks like someone was being creative. I believe that is for when a cop approached your truck not a side marker.
  2. Merle & Mark are great guys but I am not sure I want them that "close" to me for 2 weeks. I remember in High school my buddie and I would double date and take my first b1b (AKA D.C.Pete) I can gurantee the 4 of us could not do that any more. It sucks getting old.
  3. Believe it or not my wife loves our semi more then I possibly do. Last year I had some bad accounts not paying me and I considered selling the semi, my wife heard about my thoughts and she said that I would sell my Harley before she would let me sell the semi.
  4. I have been so busy this spring, my getting ready for spring finaly happened last friday, I got my tank all coated internally and put back in. I took only the truck for a 20 mile ride friday night with no problems. I then hooked up my trailer and went out to eat with my wife last night for a 50 mile ride. I think I have my confidence back again and am ready for the drive to California next spring.
  5. how do I find these coe pics on the HAMB. I have heard of you guys talk of the hamb before but I don't have a clue what the HAMB is.
  6. I am so envious. Love it.
  7. Thank you to all who gave us our freedom.
  8. If one of you computer smart guys could make this to a full screen that would be helpful. I know how to build, no clue how this stuff works. Thanks, Todd B
  9. Hope this works, I have been working out of town for several weeks so I have'nt had much spare time to post this. Luau 2014 invite.pdf
  10. I have always wanted a COE, I can't wait to see pictures.
  11. Awesome, I love the lettering and I read earlier that you use linseed oil and mineral spirits. My dad taught me that trick years ago and it is so fun washing wood and seeing the grain and letters pop out. I would hope to see you and your truck at our Midwest Gathering this August 23 in Marion WI. I have been working out of town so I have a lot of cathcing up to do, I will post a formal invite in the next few days. Awesome truck, you do what you want because you are paying the bills but I would'nt change a thing (rust spot included).

    Tools

Ed, My dad was one of those guys who had everything, I bought my dad that very same Snap on set and gave it to him for christmass in the late 80's. He never used them because he thought they were to nice. I told my mom I want them but she still won't let any tool leave the garage, Dad died in 2009 and I think keeping his tools is her way of keeping him around.
  13. I just had a discussion with a customer of how much money is spent to keep the crooked people out. I was brought up old school and my dad and teachers would have beat me until I stopped. Today the world protects those little dicks so they are given a green light to keep stealing. I work to hard for what I have and I get very upset when this happens.
  14. Cool little details, I love the fringes on the seat and the cab roof lights. We put the same gage and speedo units in DC Pete and they fit perfectly in the existing brass rings. I was watching American Picker and they dug a 1917 Indian frame out of a ladies back yard, all rusted to pieces and gave her $3,000 plus paid $1,000 to have her lawn repaired. The originals are very cool.
  15. It was great to fill my grandkids bags with candy and send them home with all of that sugar. Happy Easter too all !!!!!!
  16. I saw a stunt show documentary once and they put counter weights in the one side to help hold it down. I doubt if that is an original off the lot car. I noticed what merle said about the axles not spinning also. They are still crazy, no shoes or any protection, when I was young and more stupid I would have never tried this.
  17. Charles, You are doing an amazing job on this truck!!! I am one for loud pipes on everything I own right down to my dad's John Deer B I inherited. If you think about it, (have an open mind) most businesses back then ran those trucks until they broke in half. My guess is the muffler would have been one of the first thing to burn out or get ripped off going through the bad roads. Soooo, you could put a nice barking muffler that would compliment that awesome Hemi sitting under the hood and everyone would think it is the way it was back then. I could'nt change my dads muffler until he died so I doubt if I will get my way on this discussion either. Cool project, I am saving my change so I can come out to the 8th annual and see all of these awesome trucks.
  18. Nice pics Mark, Still sucks that I could not make it, exspecially when I woke up to 4" of snow.
  19. I am surprised they allow bikes next to the vehichles, I would be a bundle of nerves. Awesome 4x4 woody!!!
  20. I can only open 1 picture
  21. Back in 1980 I made a glove box out of 3/8" AC Plywood and covered it with kanga back carpet. It worked excellent for a beer cooler. I never had a heater so I made the box oversized. It would fit 25 cans of beer, many times that box was emptied next to the river banks. I bought one for my semi from Roberts and my windshield had a small leak and the box was shot in one summer, I then made one out of prefinished clear coat maple plywood and it looks awesome.
  22. Thanks for all the pictures, I REALLY wish I could have made it.
  23. I agree and suggest the same
  24. I finished the brake drum with your help. That was actually pretty simple. Now I am in the process of cutting the tank apart, I have it all clean and now my welder buddy who is the welding instructor at the local Tech is putting it back together.
