  1. stopped by the pawn shop, snagged this puppy......top brand...
  2. 1400 CC (engine in tan engine bay)
  3. they dare to be different....but, two door, bucket seats and 5 on the floor....how can you go wrong......you will go a long way before parking next to another and I like that part....you are right, seems TR6 and MGBs are everywhere...even Spitfires are few in this neck of the woods...
  4. yes, the LCV van body....
  5. I recall a lot of good crashes, roll over and what not in FEAR IS THE KEY....another Barry the Newman film.... films with cars need their own best category....just so hard to lump all films all inclusive to 5 titles. Even COBRA has a good chase scene...
  6. have you tried to lube the vacuum motor in any manner? To what degree do you have a good vacuum available?
  7. I have seen the best of refinished products destroyed by most folks be it shop or DIY....is it in the hand of the qualified user or the hand of the abuser...I think in this case it is the cost that drives replies over actual results....many will not pony up for the initial cost, when they do pay, they do not follow the directions...then get mad at the product for their failure. I have seen plenty of DIY work posted here, I need not say more...
  8. another factor in the not so perfect world of the old car hobby....you got chrome, faux chrome and plain ole paint....pick you poison...if scratched dented or damaged it entails repair. Guess what...chrome is not spotted in either and I would think Alsa chrome paint being metal deposition would fall in this category. Best of any silvers paints clear coated and or powder, none come close to real chrome....Killer Chrome does...what look do you want..still refinishing Killer over real chrome is cost effective...painting with silver is by far cheaper but compared to look of chrome, paint looks cheap...pay to play....pony up or ride off into the sunset...the best is not free and rarely cheap.
  9. Remember, an event passed over last year it seems is really valid for this year, International Work on your Truck Day give us a date Tim..!
  10. what it was before the man I got it from.....what he had it looking like to this version....same color..difference in lighting and film as to that of digital later..
  11. As with any modification, the line in the sand slowly moves ahead of your actions and thinking.. You plan and try to anticipate all things best possible and yet still be prepared to have the chair kicked from beneath you while you test fit the knot you just tied as to be politically correct so it will not irritate the neck of the man you are about to hang. This is now set and pinned, worked the last of the install today finding a driveshaft tube. Lots of body, frame cuts made AFTER painting this car as I had all intentions to use the original engine and not upgrade to the larger engine and the 5 speed. Anyway...I am glad to have it behind me but it was a fun part of the build even the stress of finding parts for a 42 year old retrofit engine into a 52 year old body...my mocked up transplant.....
  12. while a nickel or two in cost, killer chrome deposition spray is an alternative.....Killer Chrome by ALSA
  13. you got me....when TDY in the Mideast at the local military service unit, theatre was 25 cents, popcorn 25 and soda was either 25 or 30 cents...evening entertainment for under a buck..while waiting for the place to open you could watch the bright green geckos chase for bugs on the wall and listen to them bark....when the movie replayed for a couple days those were nights for the walk through the suk….
  14. I am familiar with Down Periscope, Kelsey Grammer, opening funny, firing solution 7...…. "shall I pull in so you can putt out?" Excellent comedy for those times you just need a good laugh, and don't forget the tattoo..!!!
  15. Hey, you might get to go first on these......buy mount and report your success story....I see nothing wrong with the design...EXCEPT possibility of the top holes for the shock bolt not very high off a stock frame given you have to yet bolt these on and you should have plenty of room for that... I say this only for one reason...what shock to mount...it will need be considered before hand. I think I would inquire of the distance of the top holes in relationship to the mount boss....
  16. Took a bit but finally got my own copy of Summer of 42, very good film.. In my earlier list I forgot to add one of favorites as it slips in and out of a coupe categories...FANDANGO......its a must see in my opinion...
  17. somebody show this guy where second and third is located.....?
  18. I am more into comedy I guess...a few of my favorite standbys are: But truthfully I would have to list my top picks more by category than 5 out of all.... Uncle Buck Ferris Buellers Day Off The Burbs Funny Farm Secondhand Lions
  19. Three things I care very little for in movies....Horror flick....Alien crap and precious few war movies....of the Alien stuff I watched Predator...the cast was decent in that movie...second movie, less so....
  20. that one I think was super stupid and not near as funny as Naked Gun 33 1/3 but it was pure spoof.....as was Top Secret....did this just jump thread????
  21. Don't read Tom Sawyer.....last check it was still in school libraries...but that was a couple years back....history in so being changed that it cannot be referred to as history anymore.....but...that is a different song and dance....
  22. I can honestly say I have not see a one of your top 5 picks....must be a serious generation gap....
