  1. Boy do I remember going barefoot as a child..plenty of cuts, stubbed toes, stepping on honey bees in clover...we were tough little knockers back then..I be a tenderfoot now..I only run aout the house now in bare beet..usually in my socks indoors.
  2. of course when we were young and wanted fender skirts, dual antennea, fuzzy dice, cherry bombs etc our parnets called us punk degenerate kids...
  3. nla
  4. nothing personal but so was the car....
  5. Ed..mighty deep pockets for those.... these I picture I had been looking at from a number of seller listing from as low as 85.00 to 120.00 a set....and right nice looking mirrors...I lucked upon my set for a whole lot less and am happy to have them...I was ready to shell out 90.00 at the swap meet just to have them in hand...got them for 34 the set...nibwith blue protective plastic film on the mirror head.
  6. Lou..book says...contaminated shoe lining can cause paremature locking of the brake...second they suggest inspection of the anchor pins for slight loose fitting..these must be tight..usually if one sideis working very well..the other side is not working or not working as equally well..what are the conditions of yur brake hoses..is left one balooning on you..
  7. I had these on the 49...it was a bit getting used to looking high to see behind yourself...the passenger door is just for show as size and mount position rendered it next to useless at best...kinda like when I bought my King Cobra golf clubs..did't help my game..but damn I looked good on the T-box
  8. one that will hold vacuum..that is the main requirement...in all seriousiness these can be and I have seen many wild and various tanks...I found a super nice really pretty tank made of stainless...this I will polish and place on the Bigbutt...
  9. Sorry fellows..couln't resist this...
  10. I know of Patton through the movie and a bit of history...I just bought the other movie "The Last Days of Patton" this I have never seen, will wait for a rainy day and watch. I believe that his death was no accident and that it was a conspiracy. He was the "people's" hero and though he did not seek political fame..he was a major threat to those that did. IMHO
  11. I believe Norm is suggesting that you do not use the 6V for the electro magnet..this portion of the circuit is not needed with the perma-magnets. Just tape it off to prevent contact with ground.
  12. Go to your local junkyard..about any of the Mopars with cruise control has not only the smallinline check valve for your vacuum it also has a decnet reservoir that is injection molded...look for it beneath the battery box in about the area o fhe cruise control actuator...or as they say in crime..follow the vacuum
  13. it is only a guide line...value and worth are determined on case by case study with only an average assumed ..some areas are high, some lower...don't ever overlook the fact that a high price car is not always a high price car but mearly an overpriced bondo bandit....with pasteboard floorpans and the ole POR15 coating...with the Barrett Jackson mentality running rampant..one must find realistic persons/vehicles for deal consideration.
  14. would not think so....in your wanting to start this engine, how much fluid have you put into the carb? Has this engine run lately or is this a first fire? If you have never heard this engine run..you have been trying to get it to turn over, keep adding fluid to start or lube the cylinders etc..you may now have a liquid lock on one cylinder or more..pull all the plugs and see if this will allow the engine to once again turn freely..disconnect your igintion circuit when doing this...
  15. I made it to Wisconsin couple time..wife is from Lake Geneva (other wife is from DePere..) I was there in August both times for a few days and really enjoyed the mild temps. As for the other wife..I drove from here to there in January, broke it up in four days..truck loaded with her stuff..as I dropped off my empty trailer in Indiana..I picked it up with the 50 Dodge for the trip back. That was no vacation...lol
  16. I could use a vacation...
  17. Everytime I see a picture of this coupe I start to drool...
  18. Darin..I was not there to observe..I have no clue as to why your gauge may have smoked. Proper connections are paramount in testing/calibrating this device. I have tested these devices on the bench and found them to be accuarate with both voltages..the only observation is that with 12 volts the heat cycle of the regulator is quick to open slow to close and you may see the slight flicker in the needle during this time. It takes about 5 cycles to indicate full deflection of needle and about 15 seonds to see it start to return after power is off 12 or 6 volt application. Further these can be calibrated right in place for full scale deflection and rest positions. The built in regulator coupled with the two coils that pull in opposite direction at the same time as driven by the moving wiper across the sending unit resistor is what makes these gauges slow to rise and rock steady reading even over the Baja Desert should you chose to enter yor car. Further I understand from an earlier post that your dropping resistor is of the Runtz style and might I add will not effectively drop the voltage for the gauge and IF the load were such that it would, it will still allow surge voltage way above your 7.2 volt normally seen by this circuit as designed by the manufacturer. This surge will been seen every time the circuit is closed by the regulator contacts...say couple times a minute minimum.
  19. The 10 inch models were used with the full size trim ring and covered their open center for a full dish look. Both 9 and 10 caps shared the same inside opening of approx 7 1/4 inch. I think the 9 inch caps were used with the thin trim ring and also for plain body painted wheels. Ed..did you ever mount your trim rings...spring is here ole man...
  20. If they are marked by wattage, divide by voltage (6 or 12 as rated) and gets the amperage...they can vary.
  21. Deals are still out there..I got two set of Dietz 510s very reasonable at a swap meet. My fog lights I bought for a few dollars also at a swap meet..no mounts..found a set of Unity on e-bay with two sets of brackets..one set has Mopar Logos..and the 3rd set of foggers were given to me, rough about the edges..so these I blasted and painted argent silver... Then this last swap meet I got a set of US 400 back up lights with mounts .....So go beat some bushes..the deals are out there...just gotta keep pluggin'
  22. sad part is that the repair shops do have these and do use them..at 75.00 a roll...
  23. You have fog lights and you have driving lights..they ae not the same..it is the way the light is diffused from the lens that set these apart. You will need 4 units up front to have both. Unity and Dietz are the two more popular lamps. I believe in my opinion that the Dietz is all over the Unity in driving lights and the cut of the lens is the big difference. The Dietz will have 'driving' printed on the lens. The chrome housing are a higher quality also. Appleton is another brand name out there...to find period lights like these is not that hard but will come at a price..though dollar for dollar they are a great accessory...using "period" mounts make these babies really stand out from the so-so stuff of modern times.
  24. You original temp gauge is mechanical.. The fuel gauge..should not be a problems as it is current driven device versus voltage..so polarity should not matter....I know on the two wire sender these will work + or - ground and 12 or 6 volt..they hve a 5 volt regulator built into them..
