  1. Welcome back to the forum. Sounds like a great truck. And thanks for your offer of White Oak. It's what I'll use in my truck. Had to go to WA. two years ago to get it. Hopefully someone can use yours.
  2. I've had a number of inquiries over time about locating grille bars for our '51 - 53 trucks. Replacements are extremely difficult to come by. Fortunately, I have a set that I am restoring. I would be willing to LOAN them to a member that can create drawings so they can be posted on our website and be available to everyone. I don't think reconstructing them from sheet metal would be that difficult for someone if they had a pattern. This is beyond my abilities, so who can help?
  3. George, tailgate letters are on their way. Should have it by Thurs or Fri.
  4. Had a chance to catch Eric Nogleberg and his wife in their 1948 B1B at our local Apple Blossom parade today. Who else is running their truck in a parade?
  5. Todd, Don't know what your tickets were for, but if it was for speeding you can come join Tim and me at Bonneville this September. How does 150MPH in a pilot-house truck sound?
  6. Look forward to the pics. Glad you're able to join us on the truck side.
  7. 84 Courgar, so is that a V8, 351 Windsor Engine? They were nice engines. Or we talking 6 cylinder? As stated, take measurements.
  8. A great story on that. Those are "rescue" parts. A guy was going to throw them away and one of our members rescued them. Brought them to the BBQ for who ever needed them. Just asked for a donation to the club in return. There was some nice sheet metal in there.
  9. If you want to see a lot more pictures of the BBQ they've been posted on the DPETCA gallery site: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/gallery/v/Clements_2011/ Here's just a few more:
  10. Here's whitney's website to that sender:: http://www.jcwhitney.com/adjustable-fuel-level-float/p2005714.jcwx?skuId=162409&filterid=j1&_requestid=3816152 which is made by Datcon Part # 100437
  11. I like the truck and I like the station.
  12. If you say you own a Dodge that's good enough.
  13. sent you an email. Reply back with an address and I'll ship the middle section with the letters.
  14. Hank, I have an extra tailgate from a tall bed. It's pretty well beat up, and would take more trouble than it's worth to fix, but the letters are still in good shape. I'd be willing to ship either the whole tailgate, or cut out the middle section with the letters and ship that to you to have as a pattern. Say the word and I'll UPS it to ya.
  15. We changed the date this year to avoid Spring Fling in hopes you could make it. Glad you're coming. I think a lot of people will be there this year. I just checked the weather report. Suppose to be 69 degrees and sunny. Love it!
  16. ANNOUNCING THE ARRIVAL OF A NEW BUNDLE OF JOY March 29, 2011, 5:51pm 1953 Dodge Pilot-house B4B-116 Transported from Dad's home - Arkansas Proud owners: Jerry and Holly Little, Northern California Pictures attached. Jerry just got his truck from Arkansas. In my excitement I thought it needed to be shared with everyone else.
  17. Well it's definately not a 53!
  18. Many of the pilot-house brochures on the oldcarbrochures website came from our DPETCA knowledge page, Brochures section. We have shared resources back and forth over time. But they have a lot more than just the years of our trucks. It's a great resource. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm
  19. I would recommed: SteelRubber http://steelerubber.com/ or Clesters: http://clestersauto.com/default.aspx
  20. Did he keep a template so he could make more - like for the rest of us???? What did you use for rear bumper?
  21. a few other pics from the mag:
  22. Reg, I caught the D-O-D-G-E letter also. On a '53 it's spread further apart.
  23. Dodge made it in the April issue of Vintage Truck. Says it's a '53 but the fenders are more like '52. Early '53 maybe?? But still a nice looking truck and nice article.
  24. It's Saturday - April 9th. Here's some basic info: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/clements/ This will be a great place to get help and advice. And meet some people nearby. Love to have ya!
  25. My idea was to use elevator bolts also. But how to keep them from turning when putting on the nut? I made some metal strips out of sheet metal about 1 X 2 inch. drilled a hole in the center the size of the threaded shank, slightly smaller than the square part of the shank. Put your metal, washer and nut on the inside of the fender. As you draw tight the nut, the square part of the shank is forced through the sheet metal and kept from turning by the metal piece as it bumps against the inside of the fender. You may need a few large washers to adjust for the depth of the square part of the shank.
