  1. Tim Work up your design for this years flier and I'll print up a couple hundred copies as handouts.
  2. After 4 1/12 months of unemployement, I've started a new job and with it commuting 4 hours each day plus the 8 - 9 hours of work. I can't keep up the DPETCA memberships right now so I pulled the paypal page until I can figure out how to proceed. I've talked with Tim Estrada some who wants to extend the club to include all old Dodge trucks. Maybe that's a good idea. Others would have to take over that work load. For now, sorry to say, the club memberships are on hold as I have no time to keep it up. I also have had no time to work on my truck for the last 6 months. But I am employed and thank the Lord for that. Not sure where to go next. Maybe just set it up to receive donations so I can keep the website going and add new content as time becomes available. I'm open to input here. Bob Koch
  3. Fro well over a year ago we've been trying to get this truck to Tim's home. A series of events prevented us from moving it until today. The owner was very patient is waiting all this time to have it moved and today was the day. This is a 1955 F model truck. Notice it's nice and dry at noon time when starting to load it on the trailer. The brakes on the right rear were locked. So, a trip to Harbor Freight and spending $90 for a set of 1" drive sockets in hopes of removing the tires and taking out the brake shoes. But couldn't get the nuts off with breaker bar or impact wrench. Yes, we were turning in the "right" direction And it started to rain. The weatherman did not predict this. It took dragging the truck onto the trailer inch by inch over a couple of hours ratcheting a comealong. The rain continued. Lots of work, lots of readjustments, and finally after about 5 hours the truck is loaded Notice Tim and his son are soaked to the bone. The truck was loaded and taken home at 45 mph. It rained the whole trip. A normal two hour drive took four hours. Just got a call from Tim and they made it safe. The truck has a new home. But, those "free" trucks can become a lot of work.
  4. Funny you mention that as they talked about a guy from Australia that was visiting the area who took a taxi all the way out to the yard just to see the trucks. Next time he's in the states he will be taking home parts with him.
  5. Microsoft's solutions to the RED X issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283807 It's either a setting in the browser, or some firewalls block the images.
  6. Jim Shepard, Tim Estrada and I had heard about this junkyard that was full of old Dodge trucks. We finally we able to visit it this weekend. Brian's Salvage 2580 Green Island Rd American Canyon, CA I have posted all of the pictures taken today on the gallery. I think they will speak for what a treasure house of old Mopars this place is: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/gallery/v/Brians_Salvage/
  7. An Italian Dodge, Imagine that! Love the truck. I worked in SF on the Saturday of Fleet week. The traffic was horrible.
  8. 802 owners manual is on DPETCA site: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/802/imgcol/contact_1.htm
  9. Fernando's link takes you to a series of ads that you can't close. Don't go to the link as something is wrong with it. I figured out where he was going, so here it is again, only this works: http://ww2jeeps.com/htm/gpw-mbbody.htm
  10. Seems to be a 1948 B1D http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/vin/model.htm
  11. Next time leave a note on the windshield with info of how to get hold of you and that fact that you have a pilot-house truck also. Let him know about this forum and DPETCA. Make a new truck buddy. I;ve talked to people because I left a note on their truck when it parked on the street and even run up to one guy while he was at a stop light with my card. I kinda scared him but he called me the next day. By the Way, I'm drooling over those Stainless Steel grille bars. '52's were the only ones that had them like that.
  12. Yep - 2 speed. I said it wrong. Meant to say dual speed.
  13. WOW, what a fantastic setup. I really hope you'll preserve the truck and trailer together. I've yet to see a real moving van until now. I would look so great restored together. Having said that I can tell you that a B1 was made in either 1948 or 49. The KA is a 2 1/2 ton model with dual rear axle. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/vin/model.htm A brochure for your model is on the DPETCA site: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/1949_J_K/imgcol/index.htm The serial number indicates it was made in 1948.
  14. That's the best looking route van I've seen.
  15. Lookin great. The generator is the prettiest.

  18. This came across our Dodge Pilot-house facebook page today. I"ll leave it up to you guys to get hold of her if you're interested. Here's a link to the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_171487573718 Here's her note: Veralyn Harelson Hey all, I'm located in southern Oregon, have in my back pasture 5 of these trucks, 48 - 52, 3 Pilot houses, one a 51 fluid drive Pilothouse, it was running when we parked it, hasn't moved in years.. We were gonna restore a couple of them but... alas time got away from us and now the economy has us by our seat pants... we are selling these and or parting out some of them... if your looking for a new project or parts for a project, drop me a line.... Thanks bunches... Have a great Mothers Day
  19. Nice going. Only missing now is some ol' junk Ford or Chevy hanging off the tow hook in back.
  20. a little more info that might help: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/802/imgcol/_00001.htm
  21. I don't know the year. It's, of course, from a high side tailgate.
  22. Hadn't thought about a template as I thought you were only going to make vinyl letters. The template would be nice so I can actually paint over the letters. I'm worried that the vinyl might come loose over time. Or am I wrong on that point?
  23. I'm the newest guy in my group at work, so I'm always introduced as the FNG. I tell everyone it means, "Fine" New Guy. Use your imagination. Glad you found the forum.
