  1. I was surprised to see this front end on ebay with the holes cut out near the top. Figured they were a strange way to add directional signal lights. But then I see from Morson's picture in the truck parts for sale section a truck that looks like it had the same thing. Was this some kind of dealer option? Had never seen it before and now this week I find two of them. Anyone seen this?
  2. Wow, never seen them on a smaller vehicle like that. What a great option. The only ones I've seen are for the big trucks. Here's a pic that came out of Reg's Special equipment catalog.
  3. Yea, Awesome is what came to my mind, too.
  4. Sorry Reg, Obviously I'm showing my lack of experience in that area. I'll should leave those pronouncations to the experts.
  5. There's a nice looking chopped truck on the DPETCA website. He avoided the wing window problem by using the standard, not the deluxe doors. Thus no wing window to worry about. The back windows seem to be the regular size. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/dodge/1950_pickup_chopped/imgcol/index.htm BYW, there's lots of other modified trucks on the site as well: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/dodge/dodge.htm
  6. An excellent job, Jim. It's a great looking truck. Thanks for taking us through your journey. It's been quite a ride while we all watched you go through it. I like the white Dodge letters on the tailgate. Looks nice. Are you up to assembling a photo CD of all your pictures? I'll like to preserve your whole experience for all of our members along with notes and comments you have made. It really would be a big help for everyone here. Let me know if we can do this during the winter time. And, let me know when we can video that trip to visit you know who. I'll bring the beer, or is it vdka?
  7. If yor're going to go that route then you might want to rent this DVD on chopping: http://smartflix.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1972 by the way, this play rents lots of good DVD's on auto repair.
  8. Personally I always use Firefox. Works very well. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
  9. We have dealt with the same issue on the pilot-house truck forum and have experienced the same results as those listed above. Steele rubber really does seem to be the best fit. Now, having said that, we have had users that have had good experiences with Clesters: http://www.clestersauto.com/index.htm Their rubber fit properly and was a little bit less expensive than Steel's. They are a smaller company and don't have as large of an inventory, but I think you will be happy with their product. So far, they're the only alternative to Steel that some of us truck guys seem to be happy with.
  10. There are some paint chips on the DPETCA website. If you know the number for the color it might help whoever is mixing the paint. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm
  11. One of the reasons for forming the Dodge Pilothouse Era Truck Club was just for this reason. To provide a way to meet together, both through the internet and in real person. It's been difficult in previous years to get people together because everyone seems so spread out. I would really encourage you guys to try to make this work in your area. I know it's difficult to travel some distance but I think the rewards will be long lasting. We've tried a couple of times getting the Northern California guys together but only a few could make it each time. Let me know whatever I can do to help facilitate this to make it happen. Merle I've sent you an email regarding this as well. Please continue to pursue this idea and see what you can do to make it happen. This will be a great start towards our ultimate goal - a national convention of Pilot-house trucks owners! P.S. Our Canadian friends are always welcome. We just sometimes forget to say it.
  12. A great looking truck. Thanks for sharing it.
  13. The plan is to keep doing this the last Sunday of each month. I myself was not able to attend at the last minute as my mother-in-law went into the hospital with what appeared to be a stroke. The short version of the story is she's recovering and looks like she will be fine. But the chat session went on without me just fine. And it looks like we picked up a new member from it. Looks like some good discussion.
  14. Just a a reminder to everyone that there is a complete parts manual and a repair manual on the DPETCA website should you ever need it. Here's the link: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm
  15. Just a note that we have scheduled a chat session for This Sunday Date: This Sunday - October 29th Time: 5PM - PDT (Pacific STANDARD Time) That's 8PM - EST (Don't forget the time change this weekend) Where: DPETCA Website This is your chance to discuss Trucks - Pilothouses in particular. What problems, issues and successes are you having. What do you need? Let the other members know. This is a club meeting for everyone to get together and "chat". We will again be using the chat page on the DPETCA website as it seemed to work well last time. Here's the link: http://www.dodgepilothouseclub.org/chat/index.php We'll send you a reminder again at the end of this week. Hope to see you there, Bob Koch DPETCA President
