  1. I agree with 1000 - 1500, if you are up to the metal work. Parts of it look really good and parts of it are sketchy. I would try 1000.00, but tell the seller they can keep the little plastic bowl that is sitting on the engine head. This may improve your bargaining position.
  2. If this link works, it shows an example of a Dakota upfit. What ever you decide, please post some pictures! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-Dodge-Other-Pickups-Job-Rated/302612597562?hash=item46751dcb3a:g:1PIAAOSw4GVYNmVm&vxp=mtr PS. May have to copy and paste.
  3. If you still need pics, let me know.
  4. Same for me - I recently used Permatex ultra black to seal the pan. No leaks.
  5. Geez Torqzar, you are right down I95. It should not be a challenge to get that truck shipped in.
  6. I recently used Montway. Not bad service, price and they stuck to their quoted price. The biggest time challenge I have seen is if you live off the beaten path. If your near a major city, it should be quick. https://www.montway.com/
  7. Thanks for the picture. this answered a question for me as well. P/O performed some unique fabrication I can repair now.
  8. Good looking truck! I like the wheel color. Do you see many old dodges in Brazil?
  9. You may want to review your employment practices, that cat looks disgruntled!
  10. Fab work looks great. Which Hobart are you using?
  11. Merry Christmas from John, Regina and Harley Dean!
  12. Great point. These engines were made for, and work very well with the bypass system.
  13. Spin on filter conversion is quite easy, with parts readily available. There are several threads on this forum that will help you make the conversion. Just search "spin on filter" Good luck! http://www.mooneyesusa.com/product-p/mpf200.htm 1949 Dodge B1-D......or What have i gotten myself into????? MBFowler replied to Darkrider's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum ...GRAVELY L model tractors used to use a bracket to replace the sealed canister typefilter to allow you to use aspin -on type. That can be remotely plumbed and either mounted in the same location as the canister you have. If it's mounted to the head like the original, you can use fixed tubing, but...
  14. OK, the Dean family is stealing this idea next year. Great Christmas card!
  15. Someone needs to put air in those tires and run something over.
  16. Excellent info. Thanks for clearing that up Merle. That is what I get for reading books.
  17. Thanks for the info. The Dodge history book I have stated 50 had painted bars ( Korean war rationing?). I wonder if yours was a late 49 titled in 50?
  18. If you would, please let me know if he is selling anything with a solid body. Also, if he plans to part out. Thanks.
  19. It looks like a 48/49, those years used silver bars. 50 had painted bars. The 50 still had a rectangular instrument cluster, that changed in 51.
  20. I like to play "what's it worth" in my spare time. We have all seen the 50k listings and even the 15k listings for serious junk. But they never sell. What is selling right now in Dodge is 10 to 15k decent quality trucks. As you mentioned, there are a lot of factors to selling - how badly seller needs to sell, how badly the buyer wants the truck, even geography plays a key role. IMHO, if you need to sell, start at 15k and expect a little less. If you don't need to sell, don't. These trucks are starting to increase in value with the rest of the truck craze, and the good ones are getting harder to find.
  21. No, first gear is just for pulling. and will not help with overall speed. If you are trying to achieve speeds above 45, a different rear end and/or transmission will be needed. I am guessing you have a three speed and running 40-45 MPH?
  22. Sure. It's like everything else. Lot's of patience and looking. I don't know about a car 4 speed transmission, but first gear in a truck 4 speed is a granny gear. I have a 4 speed in my 1 ton, but first gear is only good for slow pulling. I mostly use 2-4, and may trade out for an automatic. Do you have a reason you want a 4 speed?
  23. I think your dogs are trying to hijack this thread.
