  4. I'm rebuilding the brake system on the plaza wagon. Have put everything new at all four corners, all new brake lines (hard and soft) and now on to the master cylinder. when I started the master cylinder had been removed along with everything attached to it, I now have all the parts and am ready to install. My question is where is a good starting point for the push rod adjustment? should I start with it all the way in or about half way then adjust?
  5. Good job, really coming together well. Course I am a little partial, here's a picture of mine
  6. Welcome from California, lots of good info and good people here. How bout some pics of your new toy?
  7. Pete, many years ago I changed the tranny on my 38 pickup, I found a newer tranny with synchros that was a for a three on the tree shifter, the case looked the same. I took the lid off and apart and found that the shifter forks (on the newer trans) would interchange with the original floor shifter forks, the shifter forks were different in both trans. I took both lids apart and put the forks from the newer tranny on the old floor shifter lid and it worked. The forks are riveted in place to the lid, remove the rivets switch the forks and reassemble, it was a long time ago and I can't tell you what year the newer trans was, more options
  8. The rebuild kit from napa # 2-5066A. On YouTube Mikes carburetor has a step by step rebuild video, hope this helps
  9. On my P-20 the choke stuff is on the head side and yes rebuild kits are available. I got mine at NAPA, later I can post the part #

  11. Working on a 1954 Plaza wagon, it has been siting for about 20 years so some valves were stuck and had other issues so got the motor running nice and smooth. I had to pull the head and manifolds off to get the valves dialed in. Carb rebuild distributor rebuild new fuel pump new water pump. The fuel tank was pretty crusty so I had it boiled out, had already ordered a new sending unit (MoparPro), the new unit has a one wire connection and the original has a two wire connection. I went to the service manual and wiring diagram and it shows a one wire set up. So I called MoparPro at 4:30 on Friday not only did he answer the phone but was very help full with a lot of information. It is a rare sending unit used in wagons, I think the old one will work just clean the crud off a use a new float and it did ohmn out good.
