  4. An extra 2 thousandths on intakes and 3 on the exhaust over the hot settings will get you close. They close up a bit when they get warm. Retorque the head when it's warm too unless the head gasket specifically tells younot to.

  5. Kitesurfjohn, you are right on about the two perspectives. Yet when folk take a 2nd look at mine, they understand why I kept it as is. What Judson is doing is commendable. That will be a beauty, no doubt.

  7. well, we SHOULD have gotten a trophy for the earliest start and getting home the latest..... HAHAHAHHAHAA. We are now in Burns, Oregon and plan on planting ourselves for a couple of days to get relief from the driving. The BBQ was one of the highlights of my life and I would not have missed it for the world. Tim is an amazing host and the trucks were spectacular, not to mention all the great people. Next year I will be back if at all possible. I met some lifelong friends. Merle and Keven, I was honored to get to know you both and Tim, you are amazing. Y'all need to mark your calendars for next April.

  8. All I can say is 'WOW'!!!!!! It was a genuine pleasure to meet everyone face to face. Well worth the 800 mile drive (one way). Big thanks to Tim for letting us invade the ranch and putting this together. If you can make this event, do it!!!! There's not enough words to convey what's in my head.

  9. To Tim and the hole gang Both Christiane and my self had the best time of all the events we have attended. Were still talking about it at 12:39 AM Tuesday morning. Tim and your crew were amazing. As soon as I walked up the drive way, I was greeted and I new this was the place to be. For us being outsiders with our stock 34s (HA HA!!) We couldn't believe how great that each person was at this function. Tim, You know the story about Christiane losing here husband 2 years ago from a stroke. They built Dodge City Vintage in Jamestown Ca. I have not seen here have a good time from all the functions that we attended. I asked her how it was different. It was the people being genuine. Ages from 18 to 94. We got home in Sonora about 11:00 Sat night, couldn't get her to leave the camp fire. She especially loved the bird show. She loves animals. We got up early Sunday morning to go out to the pastor to pick out a truck to redo for the next event. It's not a pilot house truck, what we pick is a 1946 Dodge dry box truck that was used to deliver cookies in this area. Next year, were planning on being there for a couple of days. Were going to try and bring a truck load of Mopars. Thanks again for the good times. Dave and Christiane 2013

  12. Well, the totals are in... Round trip air fare Milwaukee (MKE) - Sacramento (SMF) = $556.60 2 days of car rental = $70.11 Gas for the rental car = $25.87 3 days of parking at the MKE parking garage = $36.00 Spending a day at the Clements BBQ = $$$ PRICELESS $$$ There are some things money can't buy... For everything else there's MasterCard Visa. So the trip cost was $688.58, or as I like to think of it, $0.40 per minute of fun. I'll say it again... for everyone who hasn't been to this event, you MUST make it a high priority item. Even if you have to fly out there for it, it is still well worth the effort. I'd do it again in a second. It may not become an annual pilgrimage for me, but I do plan on doing it again someday... with my truck. Merle

  13. Called up tripple A and upped my membership to 100 miles towing. That way I only need to make the first 50 and AAA will get me the rest of the way. If I show up behind a Yellow Truck, you all have to agree to pull out your tools and get it fixed for me to get back home! Looking forward to seeing all of you. And especially visiting the "Garage Majal" and seeing the B-1-BBQ in action again. Tom Hollister, CA

  14. If your engine is setup for a full flow filter there will be a pipe plug installed per this drawing. And the filter housing required is the same as attached to my engine in the second photo. In my opinion this is the prefered way to go as all oil passes through the filter prior to passing through the engine. Does your engine have this filter canister and the pipe plug installed? If you give me these answers I can give you more details on what direction to go. It might take me a couple of days to respond as I am traveling work wise and I do not have a lot of free time.
