David Maxwell
...for the POC Spring National in Santa Maria this May. Their is concern regarding the type of movie that would be shown. I was thinking of contacting the theatre owner to request a special feature for the event. Perhpas a `50's Sci-Fi???? Any other thoughts? Normspeed
50's sci fi is always fun. I'm partial to "The Blob", where Steve McQueen drives a P24 vert. Another thought is, some of those 40-s 50-s B&W movies that are loaded with old tin. Or, maybe Robert Mitchum in Thunder Road....?
Young Ed
The back to the 50s show here always shows 2 for drive in night. One modern and then American Graffeti for the other.
Arthur1947
Hitchcock's Vertigo
Normspeed
Hmmm, must be a sign of the aging process where we are even slightly concerned with what's going on up on the screen. Another fun Drive In movie might be CARS.

David Maxwell
Several titles were mentioned multiple times, so those will receive extra attention. I will run the list by the theatre owner and see what he thinks. Thanks for all the great input!!!
Plymouthy Adams
What happened to Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry? Must be old or something as I have a goodly portion of that list in my collection. One other movie with some great car scenes is "Fear is the Key"..Barry Newman again...have not been able to get that in a format for our region... Reg Evans
"The Big Wheel" Mickey Rooney...1949 Lots of shop scenes. Restless and reckless, All grown up, Rooney stars as Billy Coy, the son of a famous Indianapolis 500 race car driver who died in a fiery crash in the last laps of the race. Rodney Bullock
Just saw dirty mary, crazy larry for the first time. Very corky movie I enjoyed it surprizing ending. Remember that Burt Renolds movie where he had a special buick or olds about a 1955 and he would rob the gas stations company that he used to work for, pre Smokey and the bandit. Don't forget the Don Johnson movie "the hot spot" he drives a Studebaker hawk circa 1960 half way though the movie somehow he blew the exhaust donut and you could hear the system. Now that's a movie with some perks!
