15 to 20 ft lbs. They are ment to be mounted not overly tight so that they can move as needed during heat cycles. This was also the idea behind the brass tapered nuts. You probably will not be able to get a torque wrwch on several. I usually get them snug then do a 1/4 additional turn. Always a good idea to go back through after a couple heatup/cool downs. While not stated anywhere I beleive it is best to tighent them from the center ones out, alternating from front to back as you move out from center.

As Greg mentioned you can't get torque wrenches on all of them. I've never used a torque wrench on them on either of my engines. Tight plus a little turn has worked for me on these. You can get a good feeling on the easily reached ones before you have to get that underneath one.

That underneith one should be the first one you tighten

Same idea still applies though. If you do them all by hand you should be able to feel pretty closely that they are all at the same level. Of course its not as precise as a torque wrench but you can't use that on all of them anyways.

Which of the manifold studs get the tapered nuts ? I noticed that VPW sells the nuts in sets of 4 , so I am guessing that only 4 studs get tapered nuts . Do they go on the studs that are on the outer ends of the exhaust manifold ?
