Harvie Posted March 10, 2023 Report Posted March 10, 2023 Brake pedal on my C39 New Yorker squeaks and when I greased it I found that there was play in the shaft. It looks like a replacement shaft is available but I cant find the bushings. Does anyone know where these can be obtained? Quote
desoto1939 Posted March 10, 2023 Report Posted March 10, 2023 Try Andy Bernbaum he list the two half bushing that go into the end of the torque tube and I think they are around $5 each. Rich Hartung Quote
Harvie Posted March 10, 2023 Author Report Posted March 10, 2023 Thanks very much I was afraid that I would have to get them fabricated and it would be difficult to get them to fit. Quote
Harvie Posted March 10, 2023 Author Report Posted March 10, 2023 I am going to take the assembly apart this weekend if I have time - the drawing in the parts list shows the bushing as one piece. perhaps we are talking about two different things. I will see if I can provide diagram om what I am referring to. Quote
andyd Posted March 10, 2023 Report Posted March 10, 2023 If these are the 2 piece diecast metal bushings that fit around the "ball" ends here in Oz our Oz Chrysler Valiants used the exact same 2 piece bushings in our mid 60's Valiants till the last of them in 1981, made of white nylon these were an exact copy of the alloy diecast ones and I wouldn't be surprised if the same things were used in the US cars...........andyd Quote
desoto1939 Posted March 10, 2023 Report Posted March 10, 2023 I took a snap shot of what I think you are looking for refer to number 30. Hope this helps you identify the part. Taken from My MoPar 37-52 Tristate dealers catalog. This is why parts catalogs are so important in this hobby. i cannot stress the importance of purchasing parts catalogs to help keep your car running. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote

andyd Posted March 11, 2023 Report Posted March 11, 2023 Methinks I misundertook the question.......the clutch pedal bushing are not the brake pedal bushings that were originally asked about........I'll go sit in my corner now......lol.......andyd Quote
Los_Control Posted March 12, 2023 Report Posted March 12, 2023 @andyd you just need to drive a truck .... they did not have a bushing.... I was going to report this in this thread ..... those rascally Chrysler fellas did add a clutch pedal bushing. Andy just sell your car & get a truck, you will be a happy camper. Quote
