Conn47D24 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 After all these years I'm still seeing things in the parts book that I don't need ... but I just gotta have. NOS Spare wheel cover. Part # still visible. Who knew? Anybody seen / have one of these? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) that is just the retainer for fixing the spare wheel against the spare stand when in the wheel well. I removed one of these yesterday from a P15 2 door sedan I parted out and took to the crusher. However, I do not recall an embossed part number on the heavy metal cupped retainer. Conn47D24 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Report Posted February 11, 2022 PA, I also have the retainer and bolt that secure the spare. They are under this cover. This , according to the parts book, is the spare wheel cover. Listed under the hub cap section. I tried an old dDodge dog dish cap but it will not fit over the retainer. That lead me to the parts book, and my find. Seems like a part that was easily lost over the years. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 thanks....looking again, I do not see the retainer clips for the cap...missed that first go around....different for sure... 1 Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Just think how many original owners tossed that the first time they had to change a tire. But you're right, I don't "need" one of those, either. But now I'll be on the lookout for one. 2 Quote
Sniper Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Shoot, I'd be happy if I had any of that stuff including the jack and tire iron. Seems someone tossed all that and the spare too over the years. 1 Quote
grady hawkins Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 I still have the original one from my D24 but it does not have any numbers on it. I just put a spare hub cap on the spare tire. 1 Quote
Conn47D24 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Report Posted February 11, 2022 Sniper, yes, the jack and tools would be great to have. Many borrowed or left on the side of the road after a flat. Quote
Cannuck Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 I was very lucky then mine came with all those plus a large hole under the spare. 1 Quote

Sniper Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Thanks for the warning, lol. I have a spare now and I've gotten a scissor jack and a lug wrench so I am good to go. Quote
