1951’ Cranbrook. image.jpg.dcb82c60cd7223fe46afe843a5222d28.jpgStill figuring out from someone else’s disassembly. Can’t figure these - somewhere on the front end I believe (could be wrong). 

 

About 2’ long, 1/2” diameter. Appear to be long springs?

I agree, they wrap around the outside of the front brake drums as a silencer.

Well; that explains it. Thanks for the fast replies!! Disc conversation so they aren’t needed and I couldn’t figure it out.

Just clean them up properly and they will look just like that?

That looks like them. But cleaner! This is just on the front, correct? My rear doesn’t have these. Forgive the questions, I’m still learning the way they used to do things in the ‘50’s!
