I wasn't sure how to vote. I am 40. I could have voted in the 30-40 catagory, but I was feeling older this morning so I voted in the 40-50 catagory.

Merle-

I'm in the same quandery, I'm 40. I voted in the 30-40 catagory though, because next year I'll be 39. I figger I'll count down from now on...

Merle and Bob. Remember, with age comes WISDOM.:D My kids are your ages. Daughter 42, Son 40 and a Stepson 36.:D. Granddaughter will be 16 end of next month. In just a couple more years I'll be able to play all the time, just like when I was a kid. You guys still have to go to work another 20 years or more.:P

Welllll, Ed. In looking at the answers above .... guess the poll questions should have read 30-39, 40-49, etc.....so the guys sitting on the fence would have to be on the right side of that fence. I hadn't thought about

that situation.

I thought about it a little too late. Oh well. Interesting to see how many people are with me in the 20-30 group.

Wow you guys are old! I got to finda forum with younger users maybe a Brittany Spears forum? 80+% of you are over 40, yikes! Oh well you know what they say; Youth and talent are no match for old age and treachery.

I think you'll find that the majority of people in the hobby are between about 40 and 70 years old, regardless of the club or forum. Just look around at any car show or swap meet the next time you go. There's more gray hair people than any other group. It's like Paul Revere of The Raiders said last week during his show. Hey, this is my real hair, I didn't buy it. I'm rich, you think I'd pay for gray hair like this.:D

I am still stupid at 32. But I am glad I listen to my folks and stayed in school when I was 17 and knew it all! now I 'm AGAIN learning all from scratch and guess what I am actually having fun!:D:eek:

I am the youngest here maybe? I am 20 years old. I've actually ALWAYS hung out with people two my age since I was probably 6. When I was about 6 or 7 I hung out with 15 to 20 year olds and now I hang out mostly with people in their mid 30's to their late 60's. Older people to me are funny to listen to and they have a lot of good stories to tell and learn from.

Shawn, you might be the wisest person on this forum. Good attitude!

I had the pleasure to meet Shawn face to face last evening at the POC gathering. He is a very wise young man and knows when to speak and when to listen. Tenetive plan is for Mark Aubuchon to trailer the 46 Crashler owned by Shawn to the POC car show today and use the collective brain trust that will be present to start the car for the first time sence Shawn has owned it. We all should have lots of fun today.

Interesting poll. I'm 73 and I am very grateful to the younger people who have helped me in my quest to get my 47 coupe running. You're never too old to learn. Ed

Truly, its great to see some 20 somethings and younger interested in something other than ipods, video games, and computers. Very refreshing! I often wonder once we are all dead and gone who will still want these old flathead powered cars. People will always be attracted to the iconic mid 50's chevys and fords, and muscle cars will always attract performance enthuisiasts, but what about stodgy slow old mopars from the late forties and early fifties? Hopefully we can continue to attract the younger crowd to keep the faith.

Shawn, I've been doing the same thing since I was 18. I'm 28 now and all my friends keep on getting older. I love hanging out with the old car nuts. You can learn an awful lot from those guys. I hope I can do the same for the younger generation when I get older. Need to keep the hobby going. :)

Thanks guys. I did meet Don and the others at the POC gathering. Very cool people and funny as heck. I actually learned a LOT last night just listening to them. I learned a few tricks about the hubs in the back (who was it that told me to jack the opposite side up to help the axle float and pull the drum off the taper, I am bad with names sorry), also gas tank stuff, brake information, oil usage, electrical, etc etc.

BTW, I didn't get to make it up there today (Saturday) for the big judging and everything else because I had to work until 3:30 and just now got home and doing work for my business law class right now. The guys all offered to come pick up my car and help me out by getting it running, etc but since I had work that failed to happen. I wish I could have gone through with it and bring it up there, it would have been a great time. Oh well guys, maybe some other time, I learned a lot and enough to be able to get it going on my own I think though now. I really appreciate the offer though, I don't think I know anyone that would have offered something like that, especially someone I just knew over the internet and met in person for the first time last night.

Good bunch of guys here and even though I don't have a Plymouth I plan to stick around. :P

I do get people that tell me to put a 318 in it or a hemi, etc but I will keep the flathead for sure. I don't care if they are slow, they are something way different, they seem to last forever and easy to keep going and build. Simple is better for me.

If you have been watching current fashion trends: clothing, home decor, etc. You will note that the 40s style is coming into vogue. I get the most compliments on my P15 from younger women in their early 20s. I see more and more "glamour" shots that dress the girls in 1940s style clothing, and I ain't talkin' 'bout Rosie the Riveter either. So a word of advice to you younger guys that may still be lookin', get your P15 presentable and you'll be more readily noticed by the fairer sex. My father still likes to tease me about how the local beauty queen (Miss Teen Minnesota USA) liked my P15 so much when I was in HS oh so many years ago...
