Put the first coat of high fill primer on this morning.  I'll put 2 more coats on tomorrow and start the sanding process.

The body screams '55 Chevy.  But with the appropriate moldings and tail lights, it will be a Pontiac again.  I wonder if the instrument panel was exclusive to the Pontiacs.

Since I went up to Anchorage yesterday to get the wife a set of hearing aids I stopped at Lowe's and bought 3 rolls of window flashing to use as sound deadener.   9"x33' for $17.39 it took 3 rolls.

Finally done with the body work.  Have it ready for final sanding before color.  The worst is over now it's just mostly money. lol

Just put the U-POL tintable undercoat on.  Took 5 liters and I'll need another two.  Still have to do touchup, outside of inner fenders and the inside of the front fenders.

Is the color the same as the future body color?

Costs with this product?

Thanks

Yes.  It's a metallic electric dark blue.   Up here in Alaska 4 liters is $238 I believe.  With those deep rear fender wells it takes a lot of material.  With the front fenders and inner fenders to do I hope I can get it done with 7 liters.

Thanks for the reply!

Kind of expensive but if you plan to use the car a fair amount it is worth whatever it cost to stop the rust issues for as long as you own it and maybe well beyond that.!  ?

The car had some of the original undercoating still in place.  About 45% I'd guess.  Where it was still on the metal underneath was still rust free when I removed the undercoating.  There was still paint under it.

How cool!!!!!!!!!!  Great looking car.  Even better than a Gomad.

They're all winners.  That said, if you have that big piece of stainless side trim, it's a rare piece and it would be nice to show it off.
