heads up to all member...GTK was able to link the classifieds to the main page....this hopefully will give ads a better chance of "eyes on" and cut out the number of ads posted directly to the forum pages...win win for us all

Shoot, not working like I thought it wood. I thought it would have "high lighted" the quotation marks to the left of the subject line when a new post was made like the other subjects.

But I see it's getting hits, guess that is the goal.

well...as it is hosted off the site...this may be the best we can get for the time...I understand upgrade in in the future...maybe it can be weaved in a bit more fluidly later  GTK listened and responded as best he could and to that end I say thanks...it is now in the eye of the looker when the forum is opened.

Agreed, if it is working as intended, it is better than it was. If it was intended to do something else and wasn't, I just wanted to give " feedback"

I belong in that category.  People have to watch out for "old men".  We usually know a lot of ways to mess up their day.

The new link displays hits, which seem to be quite a few. Did the old location get as many visitors? Finding buyers is another story. I've contacted several posters 'wanting' stuff with tips/leads, but never got a reply.

cannot say about the hit count compared but I will say this, I have visited the classifieds a good number of times since the new link, I dare say I would have been there once if it were still in the brown banner....buyers....that is crap shoot either way...some here are proactive in looking...other like it dropped in their lap by chance....if I am in need I am in the search mode I will assure you....

And don't forget you can subscribe to the classified section and get email notifications when new ads are posted.

Is it possible to have new classifieds show up as unread when using the "view new content" feature?

No. It's a separate 3rd party module and it not a "forum" so it does't get picked up by the new content feature.

First make sure your email address in your profile is valid and correct.
