while quick and easy ...I can readily see this on a construction site where accidental damage to a anchor may occur..but for home and shop..still believe the ole tap and die set as first duty on threads, inside and out...

 

I typically inspect all threads and chase them with either the tap or die prior to reassembly..

If it's does the job easily I can see someone getting carried away and chewing the bolt down til it too short!
