greg g Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Today as I was leaving a car show, I saw a buddy having some trouble with his car ( an MG Midget) he was stuck i the driving lane of the main highway through the town. He had his flashers on and was on his phone. I pulled over in front of him to inquire of his difficulty. He thought he had blown his clutch as in not drive to the transmission. So I got out my trusty tow rope hooked him up and pulled him into the parking lot of the local tattoo and piercing emporium. He was trying to get his neighbor to grab his truck and trailer to get him home. He asked what he could do to return the favor. I told him next time he hears old Mopars aren't good for anything, he can say he knows they indeed good for something. Next time I see him, I will have to ask if he put his wait time at the tattoo parlor to good purpose. 3 Quote

Oldguy48 Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Years ago when I had my first P15 (1966 I think), I towed my uncle's 61 Chrysler home after it broke down. He often kidded me about my old Plymouth, but after rescuing his Chrysler...not so much. I also towed a 1960 Chevy convertible about 60 miles with that P15. It wasn't a fast trip, but we made it with no problems!! Wayne Quote
_shel_ny Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Not a street rescue, but after the fuel pump went on my S-10 I got it hauled home on an equipment trailer. I rolled it off the back by myself, and let it coast to a stop by itself in the bushes. J. Edgar then had the privilege of easing it forward enough to a spot where the tank was dropped, and replaced. I think he was smiling at the time. Almost like in this frosty pic sittin' next to Frank. Looks like a smile with the big mouthful of stainless grill teeth. Quote
RodFru2u Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Great Story of a friend and fellow car enthusiast (nut) helping another. Yeah these old Mopars are GREAT at dragging vintage British Steel back to the barn hot,wet and broken. 1 Quote

Looks like it would easier towing that car than the one that lives in your parent's garage! Quote
