BobT-47P15 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 .....suicide doors. Just noticed this ad. I don't keep up with Rolls much, since they charge just a bit more than for my Caravan. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Rolls or no Rolls, that front end is about ugly IMHO. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 Actually kinda reminds you of some Chrysler products from the 70s. Quote
kevinanderson Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 and they have a tailgate that drops down, vertical portion of trunk Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 How to say SUV without saying SUV....Rolls has always had a problem with words, they state a Roll Royce never breaks down...instead they use the words, "fails to proceed" Quote
62rebelP23 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 they send a covered rollback so the neighbors don't see the roller "failing to proceed". if i paid that much for a car, i wouldn't want it seen broken down either, regardless of the reason. but i agree, that is one fugly car. Quote
RobertKB Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I can't believe that is a Rolls Royce! What the hell happened to the famous radiator? I'm thinking whoever designed that had a brain fart. I lived in London for three years in my early 20's and Rollers were ten a penny compared to here. They never failed to impress then but this latest creation is extremely ugly. I guess you could give it to me but I wouldn't pay a dime for it if I could actually afford it. If they keep turning out ugly crap like that, they will be on the orphan list soon. When I was in England a year and a half ago visiting relates, I came across this gorgeous old girl. Now, that's a radiator! Quote
PatS.... Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 It's a really amazing car. Here's a gallery: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rolls-royce-phantom-drophead-coupe/119389/ Quote
Guest Zach Roberts Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I googled up a little more info... This beast weighs 5800lb. How many TR3's is that?!? 453hp, 513lb/ft of torque, $400,000 price tag, and from a distance it looks like a cross between a tugboat and a bar of soap. The interior is rather nice, though. Just my opinion. Quote
Lee Exline Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 How to say SUV without saying SUV....Rolls has always had a problem with words, they state a Roll Royce never breaks down...instead they use the words, "fails to proceed" A local business owner here in Iowa was on vacation in Canada in his Rolls when it "failed to proceed" He called the nearest dealer who came out with another Rolls on a flatbed and exchaged cars with him. His car was returned to him at home in Iowa when he was back from vacation and they picked up the loaner. After a couple more weeks he called to ask about the bill for the repairs so he could pay it since his car was no longer under warrenty. The guys told him they did not know what he was talking about? What repairs? Rolls Royces don't break down! They never charged him for the repairs, loaner or towing! Of course when you are paying that much for a car I sure some of it could be used for repair costs when needed? I admire them but doubt I could ever afford one, and if I could it would not be that ugly thing! Quote
greg g Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 So RR has hired a designer away from Hot Wheels???? From the front doors back it isn't bad but that front end is BUTT UGLY. Inspiration was what a Chinese Pug??? (no offense to Pug owners) Quote

I heared a similar story but the mechanic was flown in with a helicopter , after he tried to get the bill RR denied anything happened.... My two cents on the front, they must have crossed it with an Escalade , which has a to say the least an ugly front. But I see more and more cars coming out with such a shine square grill. Maybe we should protest like the Jeep guys! Real cars don't have square grills ! Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I heared a similar story but the mechanic was flown in with a helicopter , after he tried to get the bill RR denied anything happened....[/b] Sounds like we need our in house "snoops" investagater Brad Lustig to investigate this one. Tim, she looks like she's gonna fall over and have a nap, not settle a score, unless she has a beef with the water bucket Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 I see you have a lot to learn about pugs Pat..that is the distant stare seen just prior to a vicious attack...these dogs are natural born killers...bred for fighting... She is still pretty chipper dog...still plays like a pup and is just showing her 13 years of age..hearing is a bit less than it used to be. Wife says I spoiled that dog...but hey, don't she deserve her own banana split? (less chocolate syrup), pets are supposed to be rotten... Quote
