Mark D Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Interesting concept; shift stalk mounted turn signal device? For those that wish to stand out from the rest or just be different. (by the way, Im not the seller). 1 Quote
Ulu Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Could that be an Overdrive manual control switch? 1 Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Hey, that really is different. I've never seen one before. Who's the seller ? Quote
thrashingcows Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) An OD switch for the shift knob would only need 1 wire, if I'm not mistaken. The fact that this has two would lend me to believe it was for turn signals. Neat regardless. Edited November 7, 2014 by thrashingcows Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 look closer...am not siding with anyone here but there is a bulb built into the unit evidently for alerting OD status..could well be the requirement for the second wire... Quote
Young Ed Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 look closer...am not siding with anyone here but there is a bulb built into the unit evidently for alerting OD status..could well be the requirement for the second wire... or the bulb lets you know your turn signal is on 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 but with the idea of turn signals you would need three wires minimum without a bulb....it could well be a many things if speculating...back up light switch, flamethrower ignition on...over ride switch to the flux capacitor..taxi cab light signaling whether on or off duty...photon torpedo..retractor beams...warp drive....oh hang..its just a generic switch in a generic knob...placed there by some geriatric owner... 1 Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Plastic knob. No ground. I think it is simply a switch to turn the bulb on and off to impress the co-pilot. 1 Quote
DonaldSmith Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Looks like three wires. Lessee: Ground, Hot Wire, and wire to whatever is to be switched, and to light up the little bulb? Now, if there is a contact to the shift lever, that might provide the ground. That leaves a hot wire, a left side wire and a right side wire for turn signals. But how to light up the little bulb without powering both sides? Quote
Ulu Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Maybe three wires & if so I think it's a turn signal. Quote
Mark D Posted November 17, 2014 Author Report Posted November 17, 2014 One of you fella's buy this? Jumped from $17 and closed at $67 in the last few minutes of the auction. Quote
