Hello all,

been awhile since I've posted, been busy with coupe and rebuild project. Here's my question, I picked up a 331 hemi and am going to do a transplant in the coupe, having trouble finding paw website, can someone give me a web address for them?

I have not been able to deal with PAW for years..this is an interesting question for I have bought overhaul kits from them in the past..I like the fact you can specific grade like Moly rings etc..I was looking not more than a couple weeks ago for them online.

They sure don't have much on ebay compared to the 12 year old paper catalog of theirs I still have. 42 pages too! I used to buy from them and got great service.

Try the phone #!

You can contact him through ebay but he has only a fraction of the original parts and has no interest in going back.

Depending on what you are looking for there are 'other' suppliers of EarlyHemi parts...

not sure of the cause, prices...supply?..who knows..but I think he could still do very well just by advertising in special catalogs dedicated to the old car industry...I also still have their old catalog..its very thick..guess I will save it for a booster seat for the grands around the dinner table

does anyone know what parts interchange with this motor? what 354,392 parts will interchange-push rods, connecting rods, ect. am going to switch over to big block chevy water pump and use the newer "short" cam set up. Please keep in mind i am not building a racing motor, it will be a nice show piece with aliitle thump on cam. Am going more for the WOW factor then anything else. Also have decided to put a t5 behind this motor.

Well, I will first suggest that you give a through reading to the material presented in:

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118764

...much easier than trying to restate everything here.

Second, is that you have not identified which 331 you have (there are three distinct versions!) so some information will apply to one and not another.

There is very little that interchanges between any 331 and the 392, some interchange with the 354, but again, year dependent.

Also more info:

Check w/ hotheads.com - hemi's are their specialty - lots of parts choices and info

egge machine- part and rebuild services

wilcap.com - hemi to later trans adaptors and full flow oil filter adaptor

See if you can find it - Street Rodder magazine article -Sept. 2008 was 2nd part of story on building a 331 hemi. Believe there was 3 part story. Part 2 was the one I could find on a google seach on chrysler 331 hemi build. I'm not the best at tracking at times.

Prepare to spend $$$$.

Love to it see done ,

Doug

I bought parts before they closed and have dealt with them on eBay. The transactions were all handled promptly. I don't know what there parts inventory is, relative to their previous catalog.

Don't overlook one of our own.

'Tho he is in the business and a supporting member of this site, Gary Stauffer keeps a low profile.  He has a fair amount of stuff and is very knowledgeable.  I bought parts from him in 2000 and he is still 'holding my hand" as I finally get around to completing the project started in the last century. :o  Shoot him an email.
