Back Glass for my 47 p15 club coupe

Been looking for a back glass for my 47 coupe with no luck. Can anyone tell me what else might fit? When I got my car it had a back glass, but it was to small to fit the hole in my coupe. I figured it must be for 46-48 sedan but not sure. I found a 50-ish four door Plymouth sedan in southern Indiana saturday looked like it was way to big. A complete looking car lots of good parts.

I believe the club coupe rear glass was specific to that body style. I have a busines coupe and the rear glass is a small piece of flat glass. The club coupe glass is bigger and curved. You might put a need it now announcement on E bay and see if anything pops up. You might also try these folks

I know of no coupes at the three yards I frequent...only spare glass I have about the house now is a rear window for the D24 Sedan...

Also check with some of the Glass people that advertise in Hemmings. I've seen ads that claim they can reproduce just about any auto glass from some of them.

I believ the glass froma Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto, Chrysler Club Coupe from 1946 to 1948 will fit. Have someone if you can check the Hollanders book, to make sure of the interchangeability. I bought a parts coupe just to get back window formy 47 Chrys Club Coupe.Good luck on your search, hope one turns up for you........Fred

I just went to Steele catalog...it states the same part number for all club coupes of the era, Chry. DeSoto Dodge and Plymouth as one part number and the sedans and business coupes different.

These people have a master catalog with more indepth details of their product for application and such...they can answer most questions immediately where the book can be misleading or vague at best.

I have to go along with Tim on his thinking. I know for a fact the windshield on a 46 - 48 Dodge is larger than on a P15. Bought some D24 windshield trim a few years ago to get the center bar. The trim was too large for the P15. Don't know about the width, but the glass is higher on the Dodge. Since Chrysler and DeSoto are the larger cars, my guess is their glass has to be at least the same as the Dodge in size. Evidently even the glass on the on the P15 business coupe is different than the glass on the Club Coupe according to Greg.

Now, all that said. As mentioned Hemmings is a good place to start looking for "New" glass. Also, I remember someone selling on ebay that claimed they could supply you with all the glass in the car, even tinted. Think it was some glass company someplace in Tennessee. So, maybe run a search for auto glass on ebay. If you find one in Tennessee for item location, send them a note.

I could swear this car had a back window in it when I was there. I bought the side and rear window interior trim pieces off this car. However looking at the picture it looks like shards of the broken window are in the opening. I'll check next time I get to the junkyard.

I have this glass in my collection. I am not sure what it fits, other than it came from a Dodge coupe. I have the doors also.

That looks like the right one. My dimensions are 36 inches across the center of the opening and 13 1/2 high in the center of the opening.

Looks like I might have found one though. If that does not pan out:eek: I might holler at you if you want to sell it.

I have some other parts that came off what was left of the dodge that was being sent to the scrap. I do not need any of this. I just installed a new rear glass in my 38 coupe. New glass came from Bristol Glass of Bristol, Va. New rubber came from Steel Rubber of Denver, N.C. I did a fine job except for the Crack going down the middle.

i just sent a back glass to az.,upon delivery he said it was to small too,dont forget there is a thick rubber gasket that goes between the opening and the glass.if the glass you have is with the car,chances are its the right one
