David A. Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Is the purpose of this forum not to help its members restore or repair their pilothouse trucks? Why was my plea for help deleted? I made it clear in my post that I followed the proper channels by placing an add in the parts wanted section some time ago. I also looked in the store section for my needs to no avail! All I did was ask for help in locating a part that I need and haven't been able to locate for over a month now. With the wealth of knowledge available on this forum I'm sure someone, who maybe never checks the parts wanted section, could have told me where to find what I needed! Thank You, David A. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 was it your post about a crankshaft pulley? If so it got moved to the classifieds section under truck parts wanted. I think the admins want to keep that type of thing in the classifieds area and I'd bet it got moved there. If that's not it, then you'll have to wait for an admin to respond. Quote
P15-D24 Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 We don't have very many rules but one is parts/car ads go in the classified section. Text ads are free. They get automatically deleted after 60 days if the original poster doesn't renew them (for free). That way other members know the ad is still valid. Bit of history for newcomers: We use to have a forum sections for ads. They were not managed or updated by posting members. Other members would get frustrated after wasting time searching to discover they were out of date or expired. And lastly, I would get almost daily complaints as to why the ads were such a mess. Solution, use the Classified section. And did I mention text ads are free? 1 Quote
Young Ed Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Yes I agree that ads need to go in the ad section. How about a post saying I have an ad but are there other sources? Like junkyards old car suppliers like VPW. That seems to fall in a grey area. Quote

Those forum sections were permanently closed back in April/2013. The Classified in the Buy/Sell section are now the place to post personal ads. Members need to get in the habit of checking them on a regular basis, plus some commercial suppliers are posting promotions you might find useful. Quote

Don Coatney Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Is this your advertisment? http://p15-d24.com/classifieds/item/189-crankshaft-pulley/ If so it has not been deleted. It will remain active for another 8 days and 8 hours and then be deleted. per forum rules. Quote
David A. Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Yes that is my add. I had a couple responses but they weren't the right item. I have not had any responses for some time so I assumed the add had run its course and would probably not be getting any more responses. It is the only part I need to be able to start my newly rebuilt engine. I want to do that before I set the newly painted cab back on, in case I need to pull the engine back out of the frame for some unforeseen reason! It has been holding up my progress on reassembling the truck so I thought maybe someone on the forum could point me in the right direction. How can I ask for help looking for something without saying what it is that I am looking for? Thanks, David A. Quote
JBNeal Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 If'n ya had a build thread going that described your progress & roadblocks, then folks might be falling over themselves to help out...btw nice lookin' engine ya got thar 1 Quote
Guest bewillie Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 Do you need just the pully? Pully & hub or balancer pully? Quote
David A. Posted July 5, 2013 Author Report Posted July 5, 2013 On mine, the pulley and hub are one piece Quote
