1940plymouth Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I have a copy of a 1946 Plymouth ad that I got the original out of a 1946 issue of "Farm Journal" Lakota169 used some of my photos to make this version of the ad into a 1940 Plymouth ad. I am so pleased and wanted to publicly thank him and share it with everyone. I know I have the NYS inspection and registration stickers on the windshield plus wrong tires and wheels, but I still think it looks so authentic. 1 Quote
randroid Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Bob, That's slick! Lakota did an excellent job laying on the photographs you supplied and I wouldn't be surprised if he was deluged with requests for the same from other forum members. -Randy Quote
Alshere59 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 That is pretty slick. My brother is good with that stuff. Me not so much. You may also like this site. http://mopar.pairserver.com/p15d24ph_forum/index.php?/links/goto/64-american-car-brochures/ Quote
RobertKB Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Bob, that is very nice and your car is great as it is a survivor. It's one of my favourite cars on the forum! But..........................the wheels do take away from the end result. Your car would look better, IMHO, with the right wheels and hubcaps. More "wayback" if you know what I mean. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 6, 2013 Author Report Posted February 6, 2013 RobertKB, I know what you are saying, I have the correct wheels, but with the cost of tires from Coker or whoever, I am able to run the radials at a far less price and that is why I do so. Thanks for the nice comments, they are appreciated Quote
oldodge41 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Bob that is great! The Wayback Machine looks right at home. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Bob, it was my pleasure. I enjoy doing things like that (as long as it's not too complicated). Gives me something to do while I'm sitting around waiting for Spring. 1 Quote
Young Ed Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Bob no reason to get radials from Coker. Both my pickup and the p15 have standard radials from the tire store. What size are the tires you have now? They look too wide but you might be able to swap them over to some mopar 15s and use the stock hubcaps. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 I can't tell you the actual tire size off the top of my head, but they are on 15" rims that I had on a 1990 Jeep pickup. I didn't buy the tires from Coker, but from a local shop. I had thought about the 600X16 bias tires, but I decided to go with the radials and save money.. I can get the mopar 15" wheels from a friend of mine, I may just talk to him tomorrow. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Bob do you have hubcaps? I was buying up caps for my 40 plymouth pickup and I think I might have a few extras. Quote
40plyrod Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Good job. Was it done using a photoshop type program? Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Good job. Was it done using a photoshop type program? I used a real old version of Microsoft Digital Image. Not as complicated as Photoshop. Quote
