I've even seen a Chrysler Vin on a Motor Home that had a 454 Chevy motor that was covered under Chrysler warranty. It's not evil and the sky won't fall.

;):D

A- So long as it's not a Lucas system in any of them, we should be fine.

B- How bout that newer Volkswagon van that actually a mopar...just VW trim accents.

C- I've never owned an AMC...I could handle a Marlin{come on...when's the last time you saw one of those?}

I'll drink to that:cool:

I helped my Uncle install a 327, (actually a 307, 327 sounds so much more macho), into his 36 Plymouth Coupe. Nova rearend, and trans.

The only difficult part was the steering column. I founds some steering components in Stree Rodder Magazine.

The stock engine had plenty of get up and go, so more HP would have been "overkill".

Had one of those 307's in my '73 hatchback nova. I liked the 215 Olds motor my '74 vega got even better!

OK now you are showing your ignorance! I can build a sb mopar that will crush your chevy for pretty much the same $$. Mopar has and always will be far more technically advanced than gm.

Ok man! Not my first Mopar. I had already been to machine shops, to build a Mopar v8, in my 71 Dart!! The prices was considerably higher than building a Chevy v8. You are the one, sounding quite ignorant right now...as it seems, you are trying to keep the pot boiling, with you remark! I could care less what you got under your hood....and what you paid! At the same token..don't assume, what I'm building. You don't know where I'm going with it. Like I said...I could care less what you (or the next guy has...this is MY CAR/MY CHOICE!) If I saw you on the street, I'll gladly race you...as I am not afraid to drive...you know...more than just in a straight line! It's cool tho!! I'm ready for whatever comment comes......

I enjoy some good banter but this is getting silly. Get out there and start cutting, welding, and wrenching!

I think some of these guys will keep busting your balls just to keep you at the keyboard and away from the car in hopes you won't succeed. I just want to see another 'real' car on the road amongst all the plastic and rice that's rolling around out there.

This thread is getting a bit much...thought some of these people had more class then this...maybe the forum moderator should stop the thread before it really gets out of hand.

I agree, I have nothing against anyone in this thread, but it is a little over the top.

The poster wanted some input on His plan, and things got derailed quickly.

If the Poster wants to put in a SBC,SBF,SBM, or any other combo or engine, that is His choice, and what is wrong with it. This ain't no pure stock Forum, or a lot of us would'nt be on here. So mods are very subtle, and some are more Rad, but what the heck is wrong with that.

Just because I don't want a SBC and turbo 350, doesn't mean someone else might. I sometimes wish my cars had more power, especially on busy highways.

Look the point is sometimes, we gotta "agree to disagree", geesh, no room for differences.

And there has been a volley of remarks on this thread, sometimes some of the posters, don't think they have a role to play in the problem, but it always takes 2 to tango, and there has been a bit of tango on here.

Anyhew, ever check out this Guys profile pic, no there's a "Driver" if I ever saw one.....

Ooohhhh! Out of all that what I said, that's all you can come back with??? Seems its beyond your thought comprehension! You're a clown!! It is so easy to run your fingers, behind some computer, miles and miles away, where no one can get you at!! You're being really childish (as I am right now responding to your nonsense of a comment) -your ignorance will not put me down...or deter me from my goals of building my car, how I want it!

For the headers, you might want to try the block hugger type. They fit well and give you enough room to put in your exhaust.

That's EXACTLY what I plan on doing! My fellow shop members and myself, we're going over everything today...put the order in and ready to attack this!

Just wanted to say thank you for the comment...as well as, the rest of you, who kindly offered advice. I haven't got to reply to my messages -I haven't forgot anyone. I'm just really busy at work and only get few downtime, to chime in.

I agree 100% on what you said here. A boss offered to put in his bbf. I don't want that!!

Ps. You like that pic huh!?!?!

If you are busy and only have a little time why don't you spend it replying to the actual messages? You are just adding more fuel to the fire over and over again. Step up, be the bigger man, and drop it.

wow i didn't get this much sh*t when i said i wanted to put a chev in my p15! my car is now going to be an AMC; chrysler hemi/chev sourced nvg 3500 5spd/ford 9" rear axle.oh yea ford brakes too! most of the HAMB boys are pretty d@mn loyal to mother mopar. but that still will be your best source of info for what you want to do. these guys could be good help on the rest of the car though.

WOW

I hope Falconvan doesn't read this we could loose yet another GREAT forum member with a huge amount of talent.

Thanks for considering me a great forum member, Adam. Talent? Well, there's some very good builders on here and I'm just happy to be part of the group. I try to stay away from these nitpicking catfight threads; it looks to me like the original poster was trying to stir people up and apparantly did a pretty good job. As far as my Chevy powered s**t box; I still have to contend that Chevy's LSs series motors are the best power per dollar ratio motors out there. It best fit the final goal of the project which was a budget priced street rod with the most power I could get for the amount of $$ I had allocated for the drivetrain. That's why it's in there, no apologies.
