One little glitch: Without being logged in I attempted to look at the images uploaded by James Douglas. It said I needed to be logged in (fair enough) and gave me a log in dialog box. And when I entered my log in ID and password it said I was logged in. Unfortunately it still did not let me look at the pictures and gave me another log in dialog box.

By going to the main page and using the log in at the top of the page everything worked.

Otherwise no problems found. I do like this format better than the old BBS one.

I want to post a message and attach a photo that is 1,686 KB. How do I get it down down to 97 kb?

The computer defaults me to a FinePix viewer, which refuses to tell me how to reduce the size of the file.

I can open it in Photo House, and go to 256 colors, and smaller size, but then it looks crappy.

Aargh!

If you have Photo Shop you can change the Image Size from the tool bar. You can change it by the pixie count or simply give a percentage to reduce it by. If I wanted to reduce a picture the size you mentioned, I'd start out reducing it by about 50% and see where that leaves you. The file size will not be what you think, it will be below 50%, so save the image under a different file name to check it. Once you get it down lower, you can then reduce it again by whatever percentage you want. Just keep playing with it and you'll eventually get it under the 97 kbs. After you reduce a few like this, you'll be able to do it faster and better.

Sorry, don't use Photo House, but would imagine it has a system to do it similar to Photo Shop.

Hello.

I joined the forum few days ago. I started to restorate P-15 Business Coupe: http://veterantehnika.ee/galerii/plymouth-deluxe-p-15/

The car has some body reconstructions and lots of rust on the bottom side.

May be someone of you know about new production body detailes. Especially need are floor beams. I can make them myself as well, but it will take a lot of time.

My location is Estonia.

Kind Regards

Just joined and have a Canadian D25c four door Dodge. I've owned it for 5 years now and have been slowly restoring it. It's in running condition but needs paint, interior and new wiring. No rust with about 26,000 orig. miles on it. This is my first restoration project.

Logging on for first time. I'm working with a shop on a "48" Dodge 2dr. sedan. This car belonged to my wife's grandfather, bought new in Dec. 48. We still have the original bill of sale and his original title paper work. Keepin' it in the family and getting it back on the road. Info from the site and the forum have already helped on some minor problems in tear down. Photos attached are "farm fresh" & "home safely". Thanks.

Hi all!

Joined today. Just purchased a 48 Plymouth club coupe. Been a long time since I've had one. Actually the last one I owned was in 1964 at the ripe old age of 16. Actually that one was a 46, one year older that I, and this one is one year younger. Do the math:) Not much to do on this one except make it my own. The six is new rebuilt as well as most of the other parts. I will be looking to change out that rear end for some better highway performance. So I'll poke around for info on year that best fits etc.

Seem almost impossible to find an OD tranny. Gerald, thanks for the help logging in. I look forward to sharing any info (what I can remember) and appreciate all the tips etc that may come my way.

I'll be familiarizing myself (again) with my new ride for awhile and post any progress reports, pix, questions etc. Thanks!

Sorry about that.

I'm in Austin Texas.

Here is picture of my 48. Not much to do on this beautiful machine, except replace Temp gauge, and fuel sending unit. Oh of course I'll make some changes making it my own but nothing dramatic. These cars were great when built and I intend to keep it that way. I'll probably repaint (black is brutal here in the summer) to Balfour Green (that was the color of my original 46) and trade out chrome (ouch) window sashes for originals.

Hello,

My name is Frank and i'm a new member of this forum and recent purchaser of a 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe. Although the car is mostly complete it is a total restoration project- floor pans, seat recovery, headliner, some minor exterior patch panel replacement and body work. I intend to keep the car as close to its stock condition as possible but might add some updated wheels and tires to dress it up a bit. The flat 6 will stay along with the 3 on the tree after rebuilding both and checking the rear end over. This will be our weekend/evening car to cruise around as a driver- not trying to make it a show car. I bought the car on a sunday evening and by monday morning, my 6 year old granddaughter had already claimed the car as her own. Well, that would give me about 10 years to get this car fixed up and drivable before she can get a license. I suppose i had better get started so i can enjoy it before she takes it away.

I started browsing this forum about 2am this morning and was on until 5:30am. Lots of info and i've learned quite a bit this far. Looking forward to eventually posting more about my project car and meeting other members.

Thanks for the site and grateful for the members.

hey guys, just joined the forum and am finding lots of fun info. I have recently purchased a 49 special deluxe 4 door sedan in longmont, co. and drove it home to northeast nebraska. I need to put in a new fuel sending unit and since it has been converted to 12 volt was wondering if that will affect the sending unit at all?

What is this term "dial up users"?

It's the term for someone who is logging in via a dial-up modem on a phone line at 16K instead of a megabit connection on DSL or whatever whizzy fast connection that most of us are on these days .....
