48Dodger Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Deadlines are my way of life, lol.....I live for the victory of beating them. I've missed many of my truck building dates, but would never take them out of the process. I mean, even if you give yourself an open ended finish date, I bet there are a few events that enter your mind...parade...favorite car show....son/daugther getting his/her licence....etc.... My big missed date was 9/15/2009...Bonneville. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=15472 posts #40 thru #46 same thread but a year later.....lol posts #60 And of course the victor of actually making it, and racing the salt. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=23667 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=23688 Only 4 or 5 days til showtime Mark......Git'er Done!!!! Wish I was there to give you a hand. 48D Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 I set no dates but I am guilty of working an certain segment to finish then stop, clean up the shop and such before starting new section/element..I like to refer to them as mile markers.. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 timelines or deadlines...doesn't matter....as an engineer I live by them or die by them. In my life I set myself goals and deadlines, I abhore wasting time and dwaddling on projects. I am actually behind on self set goals for the truck, but at this point I should be able to at least drive in to the show this year, and plan on being "done" next year, but I do know I'll never really be done with this truck. But I look forward to my next project and planning that one out. This one just kind of happened. Thanks for the good words of encouragment from everyone, it means a lot from you guys. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Hi Ed;I hope you don't think I was being critical of Mark's approach. Nope just saying I don't think he's gotten the bug lately but its been his plan all along. I go to back to the 50s almost every year. This year my car started acting up last week so I'm hoping I got it sorted out! Now with the little one we can't take the pickup instead.... Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Ed; You will get it sorted. Have a great time all of you. Jeff Quote
