Saw this p15 promo model at an antique store yesterday. It was neat but the almost $100 asking price was a little too much for me.

If it had matched my car I would have for sure. Little too much to spend on a 4dr

Since I have never seen one of those before I am curious?

What scale is it?

What materials? Metal, plastic, rubber or pressed paper?

Manufacturer?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I would guess it to be 1:25 perhaps even a little smaller. I didn't have them remove it from the case but it looked like cast metal (potmetal?) with white tires that appeared rubber. No info on manufacturer.

Ed, you can get a resin plastic coupe model (unpainted) on ebay for about

$35. I looked just now, but the seller....Miteymouse.....is not currently

offering anything. I think he has both business & club coupe.

Found a page for R & R models....here's a link...............http://www.resinrealm.net/GALLERIES/RRGallery/index.html

well..if you think about it this way...buy it at a respectible offer as most shops will discount 10-20 percent if you ask..then punish yourself by not runniig around in your car for a week to get a burger and malt and further punish yourself for your poor stewardship of monies by waxing the daily driver...that way you have the toy and have suffered at the same time..be a great lay-away for the young lad later in life..

HAHA Tim the wife and I already follow a no eating out on weeknights rule we set for ourselves. We do break it on occasion if we're busy or one of us is really craving something but it keeps us behaving most of the time. As for waxing the daily driver it would have to be the wifes car its pretty hard to wax air/rust.

You are right, you should have bought it. I think mine cost a touch less than that, but they're not making them anymore, so get one if you can. Mine was in about that shape or a little worse, but some paint and MetalFoil and its as good as its gonna get.

I posted this befor and this little car was given to me! I removed the old paint as someone had painted red and will post a picture of it now.

I'm going to repait it again as the first time I was in a hurry and it shows it. But fun to look at and show other people.

FWIW, years ago I passed on several '51-'52 Plymouth promo cars because they were 'too expensive'. Today, they're a LOT more expensive and I don't see myself ever getting one. So, if you can talk them down somewhat on the price and you can swing it without sacrficing essentials, I say go for it.
