Nuts??

Of course!!!

I found out years ago that for me, one project at a time is more than enough. Not enough time or money to do justice to any more and no stable storage for the once in a lifetime deals I run into weekly.

Took a while (years) to understand that when I'm ready for the next project, it's not hard to find one. I don't have to grab everything that comes along.

I still look, and I'm quite proud of my restraint ;)

But nuts?

Positively certifiable I think!!

I was quite happy with 2 projects. My truck which is pretty much done until sometime down the road when it will need a repaint. Then my coupe which still needs bodywork paint and interior. Then someone offered me a free 51 plymouth coupe. How can you say no? It runs and drives but needs rust repair and paint.

I retired two years ago from teaching but 5 months ago starting working part time at Office Depot which I actually quite enjoy. I tell people it is my addiction money. Pension is great for most things but not if you have a relatively expensive hobby like old cars, and I have several. So yes, I am crazy and if I can find what I want, I will do another car.

Brad..I spent last Thursday and Friday at the swap meet in Charlotte..even Poppa Joe (red Tiger owner) came up to join in. Charlie was there...pretty good time...boy was it huge..even Thursday was fairly crowded..glad I got out there before the Saturday onslaught of humanity..walll to wall people. Pretty much a blow out on parts however I walked the entire track looking at the cars..first time I have done that in years...buy old iron folks..prices are going through the roof..one of the officials told me at the smaller fall show they did over 300 title transfers...and you can imagine the number of private deals handled after the sale by indidviduals.

Its normal to want all the old cars...if you have the means to get and store..and the price is right , may be to your advantage to invest a dollar or two...a walk amoung some of them cars is inspiring to say the least...wish I could spend full time on mine...

when i was younger i was a boat nut owning 3 or 4 boats at the same time. i finally learned one good one is enough. now that i am into old cars[ i still have a boat] i am trying to control myself, but i do have 2 when one should be enough.i suppose we are toy nuts rather than just old car nuts, a little compulsive, but we are good for the economy and it keeps us out of most trouble. dennis

YES... But we all understand and there is nothing to worry about.

I wouldn't mind to have another car, but it would need to be pretty much drivable as I don't have a good place to store anything very "junky".

If there was plenty money, I would have a collection of assorted cars and hopefully a warehouse in which to store them. Then you would have to decide which one to drive next. Now that would be tough........

I only have the 48 P15 coupe to tinker and play with. I wouldn't mind having another old car. If I were to get another one it would have to be good enough to replace my 95 Lumina Van. Something I could drive anywhere in comfort without having to work on it. Then I would have to get rid of the van. Don't have enough room to own anymore cars otherwise. My wife keeps saying why don't I buy a new car. I keep telling her I don't want a new car, the van is fine. However, if the right deal came along for a mid 60's or earlier car came along that I liked, I might go that route and then unload the van.

vitamindart,

If you see this car running around in your neighborhood and can talk to the owner. Tell him I told you to say hello. It belongs to my son and he lives in St. Francis. He should have it out running around soon. Takes it out of storage about this time of year. Should throw him for a loop. Especially if you call him by name, his name is Norm too.:D Better yet, don't tell him I said to say hello and make him wonder how you know him and he doesn't know you.:D :D
