they are totally awesome in their look and utility...remind me so much of a baby Divco...this is a vehicle to hold onto unless as stated you are just in the business of flipping vehicles..the couple hundred you make now could be greatly amplified down the road..I think I would be holding this one close..

Are you going to follow through and restore it or flip on it to the next guy. It must be worth quite a sum of money. You might have the only one left. It might end up being a Barrett Jackson item!!!!:D

for me , a restoration would not be possible due to funds :(. i do want to keep it and build as a nice driver , but for the right price i would pass it on .

Grab the engine number, its on the block above the generator, stamped in just below the head. In one of your posts on other forum you said the engie is froze up, they are usually pretty easy to free up. The head comes of fairly easily also. The flat 6's are tough buggers and will run when fords and chevies would have long since breathed their last. I kinda doubt that it has a GM trans due to the push button selector, my guess is powerflite. Lotsa folks are looking for an automatic to go behind a flat 6. They are actually a very good transmission. Don;t give up on the MOPAR drive train, its worth some time to see if ti will free up, some folks have been using a 50 50 mix of diesel and trans fluid or trans fluid and acetone as a freeing elixer.

You might want to call the Chrysler Historical folks at the Walter P Chrysler museum in Detroit. They may be able to dig up some info on the truck.

When yo get a chance post some interior pics and maybe of the trans.

thanks again greg . i was removing the spark plugs when one decided to break off in the head . i decided to remove the head so i pulled the radiator to have more room . when i looked down as i was removing the water hose i saw that the front motor mount bolts had been removed . the van has sat for 32+ years , so i'm thinking the engine is no good . i have sprayed PB blaster in the cylinders though prior to finding the bolts being removed .

I remember seeing one shown on "My Classic Car" once. I believe he was at a car show in the northwest somewhere and a guy had one there all restored. It looked awesome. Sorry I don't have any good info for you, but I think they are pretty cool. I hope you can get it up and running.

What in the parts book??? Mechanical or stuff relating to the body?

hey greg , sorry for the slow response . the first part of the book shows photo's of the trany and gives part numbers . the rest of the book has part numbers only with no photo's . it also has the contract number which i believe is going to be helpful . it covers everything not just the body .

My bet those things had a governor on them with a top speed limited to the 50 mph neighborhood. Wonder what the weight rating was, most likly built on a half ton chassis, as the wheels are 5 bolt not 6.

a chop is out of the question . it is kind of tall though . i am 6' 5" and i can stand up in it with out hitting my head on the cieling :D

yeah , i have decided that its a keeper . i'll just start telling people the same as i do on my 31 ford , that its not for sale

my plans are to keep it stock looking . i'm not going to hot rod it , but not going to restore either . the flathead and automatic is going to be removed in favor of a more updated engine and tranny . the rear diff is also going to be changed , because of the 4:78 to 1 gear ratio . all parts an pieces will be preserved and only prexisting holes will be used for motor and trasmission mounts .
