Warren Nielsen Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 came in the mail today. The January 2012 issue has an article and some pics of what the owner and the mag are calling a 52 Pilot House truck from up in Surry, B. C. Nice looking truck with a 440 in it and some sort of brand X suspension up front. Rear fenders are the squared off things from 53 (?) onward and the front nose is the early version with the small park/turn lights. A 52? Maybe, maybe not. But at least these trucks got some exposure in a major magazine. Quote
B1B Keven Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Good lookin' truck! Yep, a '52. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/featuredvehicles/trucks/1952_dodge_b_series_replica/photo_01.html Quote
catfishcuz Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Thats one sharp looking truck i like it, 440 its got to be dangerous. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 nice truck but one of the reason I no longer get that magazine is that everything has to be duper flopped to the max...what is wrong with an occassional stocker and engine of the period article..? After a few issues you quickly see its the same ole stuff ..only thing different is the color of the cars..and 440 engine..yeah did that also..1941 Dodge military body..wickedly fast..with 4WD would just straight up like Mario grabbing gold coins.. greg g Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 well muscle is the second word in the mag title. Quote
Warren Nielsen Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 That's a nice truck alright, but it's not the one I was referring to. And I don't see it listed on those 3 pages of trucks on their website. At least not yet. It's a blueish-purpleish color. I'll go back and double check. After breakfast tho. Quote
B1B Keven Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Sorry, that's the only one I could find online. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 well muscle is the second word in the mag title. you nailed me there Greg...I went and looked up and the mag, turns out it was the "Mopar Collectorsguide Magazine" who's format at first was not so much muscle as it was model...but it got to where it was more muscle than anything else thus me ending my subscription..seems if it was not a B body or at minimum a maxed out A..nothing was said..but in the early period they had some intersting reading..I still have my old issues in a box on the shelf in the garage.. Merle Coggins Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Here's a blueish-purple '48 with a 440, mustang II front suspension, Ford 9" axle, custom made extended cab, and Ford Ranger bed. This one is/was owned by a guy near me. Quote

Hemmings Classic Car is my favorite auto mag, usually the only one I make time to read these days. It features cars and trucks from all decades, and they always have articles on the less popular makes/models which makes it interesting. This is the only mag I read cover to cover. Cars & Parts was a good one too back in the day... Is there a good dedicated truck mag out there? Haven't found one yet. Quote
