greg g Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Catch the Toyota pickup before the end of the hill. I pulled over to set up the camera and a green Toyota flashed by as I was pulling into the turn out. This turned out to be about a 3 mile long uphill run. Can Kate pull the hill and catch the Toyota??? Its a 4 minute vid so if your puter runs slow you might want to skip it. The sound is mostly wind noise from arm out driving. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlw1mt_mvi-1377 Quote
greg g Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 If the lik was bad it should be up now. Quote
TodFitch Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Looks like you have some great roads and scenery for touring in an older car. Also looks like your car performs pretty well. Quote
randroid Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Greg, Nice work! How much above the limit did you have to go to catch him? I guess I should ask what the limit is on that road because that way I don't need to incriminate you but we all want the bottom-line dirt. That sure is some lovely scenery and the car sounded fine. Thanks for the post. -Randy Quote
greg g Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 The state limit on unposted roadsin NY is 55, most folks travel about 60. Speedo was indicating 65 Give or Take most of the way up (little slower for some of the turns) Speedo indicates about 4 mph faster than gps. Most of the run was done with plenty of throttle left. I was suprised by the scenery and topography of that route. I hadn't been over that section of road before this run. If you go to google maps and put in route 206 Walton, NY or Downsville, NY you can take your own ride along that road by pulling up the street view. Going south, there is a sign indicating entrance into the Catskill Mtn's Park area. the water is the upper Deleware river. Certainly is a beuatiful area. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=walton.+ny&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x89db7835897e4691:0x911622553e86a1ef,Walton,+NY&gl=us&ei=XJelTpmFK8bd0QH97oj6BA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCcQ8gEwAA Quote

Niel Hoback Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Great movie, Greg! I especially liked the sound of the engine when the rice burner came into view. Was it me or did I here it gain rpms? Anyway, I really enjoyed the ride. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 about a 800+ ft So the bottom (or top) line is it took you 4 minutes to go 800 feet. I can do that in creeper gear:D Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Greg, That is a beautiful drive from Roscoe to Downsville to Walton, I have been driving that road since 1976 as we use to live in Madison County and my parents down here. Thanks for the ride in the coupe, I enjoyed it The Big M Supermarket in Walton has a huge walk in cooler with many brands of beer and their prices are reasonable:) Quote
