Charlie Olson Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Tom, my prayers have been sent. This photo is of the little country church, where I worship and it is most definitely God's house; simple and directly in touch with God. Let this little church's view give you both peace, healing and strength. Charlie Quote

falconvan Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Of course I'll pray for her, Tom. Why dont we all stop and do it together? Psalm 41:3 The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness. Father, we thank you for the gifts of friendship and compassion that you have blessed us with in this little community of ours. We lift Terry up to you and ask that she be healed of the sickness that she is suffering from. Give her strength and peace, and guide the hands and minds of the physicians who are caring for her. We also ask your blessings on Tom; that you would strengthen him during this time as he cares for Terry. Bring them both closer to you and closer to each other that they may find comfort and refuge in your grace. We ask this through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Wow, it's almost hard to keep a stiff upper lip while listening to all the kind words. Well.....the intern came in earlier and said he saw the results of the biopsy.....squamous cell carcinoma.... Some sort of skin cancer. He said the main doctor is coming in first thing in the morning to tell her the plan of attack. That's all the intern would say. She's already had her fill of radiation 3 years ago. She can't have anymore. All that's left is chemo again or a big operation. But we'll find out in the morning. So... here we go.... Thanks again guys, Tom Quote
Niel Hoback Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 We will not break the prayer chain. Keep your spirits up and have faith. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Well.... the doctor sent his partner in to tell us to take it one day at a time. To tell you the truth, I still didn't a straight answer. One says imminent surgery and another says there's no surgury. I haven't got to the bottom of it yet, but I'm gonna find out hell or high water. Tom Quote

JoelOkie Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Tom, I am also sincerely sorry that this is upon you folks. This is a hard one. I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to do anything but wait on someone to tell you something. You have a lot of people pulling for you, and a lot can be done now days. P-12 Tommy Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Thanks Bob and Joel!! This forum has picked me up in more ways than one! And thanks Pat for the video. It's got me thinking. Your post disappeared for some reason. Tom Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 Well.... the nurse came in today and told her our worst fears.... chemo (if she chose it) wasn't going to work and gave her a few months. The only other option she has (if she's accepted) is to go to Dr Burzynski's clinic in Houston, Texas for some injections of antineoplastons. It's supposed to kill cancer cells. Some people think it'd BS but I've checked out the website and it looks like an option that wasn't there before. Thanks again to PatS for turning me on to the website and video. That's it for now. Thanks for being patient with this rambling. Tom Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 sorry to hear that...the clinics have had a success rate over not doing anything at all..it is a lot to consider and you two need to discuss this in depth... Quote
