I had a heart attack seven years ago, at which time I received three stents. Lately, I have been feeling very run down, which I attributed to stress at work and a very busy family life.

On Wednesday, I felt a weird pain in my chest, that came and went all day. It wasn't very severe, and I casually mentioned it to my wife. She insisted that I go to the ER and have it checked out. It's a good thing that I did, because it turned out that I had an artery with 90% blockage. My cardiologist added another stent yesterday, and I came home today.

I guess the moral of the story is don't ignore strange pains because your body is trying to tell you something.

Are they going to clear out the blockage, or is that what a stent does?

The way I understand it, the stent is like a little reinforcing tube that keeps the atrery open.

Hope you feel better and get well soon.

Hope your doing better, do you feel like you have more energy after getting the stent?

I've been taking it easy since the procedure but do feel more alert. After the heart attack/ stents several years ago, I did notice a big increase in energy.

I found myself 'running out of gas' very easily for the past couple of months, which was another sign that my circulation wasn't what it should be.

Glad to hear that things have gone well for you. I assume you also are encouraged by your doctor to watch your diet and get regular exercise. Without that a stent is only a temporary fix at best.............a bit like doing rings and valves only on a tired engine.
